Robash Posted August 26, 2007 Share Posted August 26, 2007 (edited) I know not all of us can draft with 10,12,16, or 32 of the greatest FF minds in the world...so lets see the first couple of rounds in your draft and how they played out...Performance scoring, PPR, 4 point passing TD's to give you a feel for things...and we start only 1QB 1.01- L Tomlinson 1.02- S Alexander 1.03- S Jackson (my team, needless to say i was quite surpised) 1.04- P Manning 1.05- C Palmer 1.06- D McCalister (yup, you are reading this right...makes the Palmer pick look alot better lol...and same guy that tried to take M Faulk last year in the first) 1.07- V Young (this was our absentee drafter...before you start yelling, he left me specific instructions on how he wanted the first 8 rounds to go, to include his top 10 for the first round...Vince was number 6) 1.08- F Gore 1.09- B Westbrook 1.10- L Johnson (1.04 ADP ) 2.01- T Brady 2.02- D Brees 2.03- W Parker 2.04- R Bush (absentee drafter actually doesnt have a bad team at all) 2.05- C Taylor (well ill say this, he does have the RB/RB strat down pat) 2.06- R Johnson 2.07- W McGahee 2.08- J Addai ( ) 2.09- M Bulger 2.10- L Maroney 3.01- S Smith 3.02- M Jones-Drew 3.03- Chad Johnson 3.04- Donavan McNabb ( ) 3.05- M Harrison 3.06- S Holmes 3.07- T Owens 3.08- S Moss 3.09- R Moss 3.10- T Jones quite intersting all the QB's that went flying off...and everyone new only 4 point TD's and 1 starter lol...but since the league is only 10 teams, most teams are still pretty descent with the rest of thier picks...but hey its a local so you never know what will happen Edited August 26, 2007 by Robash Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I am their boss so for the fun of the smack talking that is to come I agreed. Here is the first 2 rounds. 1.1 LT 1.2 Jackson 1.3 Alexander 1.4 Addai (My team, just didn't feel comfortable taking LJ) 1.5 Romo (Dallas fan and first time playing, but still) 1.6 Westbrook 1.7 Chicago D (Chicago fan..Suffering succotash!...announced that Defenses win championships) 1.8 Henry 2.1Bush 2.2 Colston 2.3 McGahee 2.4 Barber(Team Dallas in the making) 2.5 LJ (My team, not much choice I guess) 2.6 Young 2.7 Gore 2.8 Manning First and last time I ever get in an 8 team league, most of the teams that had dumb picks in round 1 and 2 still have decent teams since there are so few teams. I ended up with: QB Bulger, Kitna RB Addai, LJ, Rudi, Parker, James WR C Johnson, A Johnson, V Jackson, Holmes, Galloway TE Pollard, Johnson K Stover D Jax There are a lot of good players left on the WW, I am so glad this is just for fun and smack talking, thank goodness it was free. One of the owners quit this year so we advertised for a replacement and got enough offers to expand. Out of our original 12, like most other leagues had the one Guy, the guy you never know what the hell he is thinking, and about 3 other owners that were a little weak. But god help us this year. We have 4 newbies that have never played, and 2 of those have just "discovered" football, and this will be their first year for both Fantasy and NFL. After reaching for gates in the third I was still able to get Fitzgerald, A Johnson, and B Jacobs in the next three rounds, so I figure the reach paid off! Funniest thing in this whole draft happened to an absentee owner. The commish told him to send him some picks and some guidelines for drafting but instead he opted to just use ESPN autopick. His first three picks were LT, Ronnie Brown and Steve Smith so he got off to a very nice start but then... other than Smith, he started with 6 RBs(our roster limit) and followed that up with 5 TEs. We start WR/TE up to 4 but not TE mandatory. His first QB wasn't drafted until the 13th round. I figure Favre isn't all that bad under those circumstances. I was joking how ironic it was that his team name is "Team What the hell!" because when he sees his roster after the draft that's exactly what he's going to be saying. Of course, some guy drafted Kenny Irons in the 12th round... we let him repick, mostly because his team always sucks anyay. It's 6 pts per passing TD, which explains at least a couple of the earlt QB picks, but not all of them, like Rivers in the third ... that is our new owner, and contributor to the prize money pool. RB's flew off the board too. The teams with extra picks made them count this year and those without a 1st round pick suffered. The price you pay to try and buy into the playoffs the year before. I sold out my team since it was doing so bad last year and orginally had 8 picks in the first 4 rounds plus my keepers. Moved 2 for Manning and am hoping for the best this year. After reaching for gates in the third I was still able to get Fitzgerald, A Johnson, and B Jacobs in the next three rounds, so I figure the reach paid off!
