Those who've had their auction drafts

Had a lot of weird ones - that's what happens w/new owners, you're not sure what to expect - after deciding I wanted Gates this year (and got him for reasonable price), ALL others went cheaper than expected and some ridiculously so. Rudi going late and consequently for $11 was a serious "what the fark" bidding. RBs went for what most of you might considerable reasonable but I didn't (39 for LT, 37 for SJax) - ouch. Manning also went for a whopping $30 to a guy whose QBs always suck and was tired of it.

Both my auctions are this weekend. I will let you know.

Usually there are surprises in auctions but they are expected for example if there are 2 people with tons of money and only 1 RB left to select that RB cam go EXPENSIVE but thats normal since they both have money and the need at that point in time.

True. Which is why Addai went for more than LT in one of my auctions.

Yeah my draft was full of interesting picks - we are bit odd though with $220 and a two QB system though - here's an post-draft article I wrote up on the best value grabs.

Thomas Jones ($21) - a recent "injury" that is likely not an actual injury allowed Goatee to pick up TJ just as coaches were starting to feel guily about spending too quickly. Always underrated, TJ will roll in Goatee's flex - not bad.

DJax ($2) - waiting for the right time to swoop in on several hgh value ops late in the day, Big Bonkawicky grabs this historically studly WR. If any rumors of Alex Smith clicking are true, Djax will function as a high-end WR2.

L. Coles ($3) - another massive WR steal late in the day, Jer Jer snags one of the most consistant and undervalued WR in the league

Marshawn Lynch ($20) - some question marks surround this rookie, but $20 is a steal. Thus Woots becomes another benefactor of coaches getting cold bidding feet after the initial surge

Vernon Davis - ($3) along with possibly Winslow at $1, I consider this the biggest steal at TE. This guy is a beast and is in a position to act like a primary WR, much like Gates - some basic strategy allowed Dono to snakily force other TEs off the board to allow him to slither in a grab his guy

Vince Young ($17) - grabbing Vince while other coaches falsly believed they could "wait it out" on their QBs, Paps got some nice early VALUE on Vincy. His fresh legs will boost his stats week-to-week.

Donald Driver ($12) - WOW, if this guy does half of what he usually does, this might be the steal of the draft. Kind of like Thomas Jones, a recent "ding" kept his price down, probably incorrectly. Props to Chris, shame on the rest of us.

Terrel Owens ($30) - Nate saw a bulging WR and went for it. TO ends up going for less than all of his "tier 1" piers - quite a bit less. Sure there is some general risk with TO, but usually worth it.

Julius Jones ($6) - Not bad for a starting RB who had 1300 yds last year. I am bit scurred of the vulture, but I have a hunch it won't pan out the same way this year.

L. Betts ($4) - An attractive "handcuff" that may be starting sooner rather than later. And even better, we know he an perform as a starter because he's done it before. Good grab by Nut.

Honorable mentions:

LaMont Jordon ($3)

DeShaun Foster ($2)

Terry Glenn ($1)

DeAngelo Williams ($4)

Braylan Edwards ($1)

Chad Pennington ($7)

S. Alexander ($70)

Travis Henry ($36)

Chris Chambers ($4)

I got Julius Jones for $10 in a $250, 12 team dynasty league. Marion Barber went for $22. Barber is getting way over-valued IMO.

I agree with you. I took Jones ahead of Barber in a BoTH league and got some grief over it. He's behind Jackson and McGahee... I have zero problem with him as a solid rb3/flex

We are a $200 auction. Adrian Petersen (rookie) went for $55, more than Marshawn Lynch ($44). Its a keeper league though and RBs are scarce (most good ones are keepers this year). Manning went for $42. Ledell Betts went for $18 and had a mini bidding war. Mini bidding war for Michael Turner too (he went for $10).
