Randall
RB Jackson not practicing today Rookie running back Brandon Jackson is not on the field for this morning's practice. Jackson suffered an upper body injury during Sunday's practice on an inadvertent hit from linebacker Brady Poppinga and did not participate in contact drills after that. His status for Thursday's preseason finale at Tennessee is uncertain, but Coach Mike McCarthy has indicated that as a precaution, he will hold out a number of starters nursing injuries. -- Tom Pelissero, tpelisse@greenbaypressgazette.com http://www.packersnews.com/includes/newspa...der/index.shtml
Fatman
State Jounral doesn't make it sound like too big of a deal: Midway through Sunday 's practice, Jackson absorbed a blow to the head during an 11-on-11 2-minute drill, when he collided with linebacker Brady Poppinga on a running play. It looked bad at first -- Jackson stayed down, and defensive end Aaron Kampman waved for the medical staff to come onto the field -- but Jackson was able to jog off a short time later. He stood on the sideline and talked with trainer Kurt Fielding for a while before returning for a 7-on-7 session a few minutes later. He did not take any more snaps in 11-on-11 periods, however. "Hopefully he 'll be OK, " McCarthy said.
PaulOttCarruth
This injury, which is probably nothing more than a mild concussion, is of minimal concern for Jackson owners. What's a big concern is his ho-hum performances thus far in preseason and training camp. At this point, I don't trust him as a RB3 in fantasy. He's still worth a shot as a fourth or fifth RB, but IMO it just doesn't look like the lights have come on. If you want a piece of the Packers running game, Morency might be your best bet because his stock is extremely low right now.
