Why do they ever kick PATs in the pre-season?

Anyone have stats on 2pt conversion rates for teams vs. general short-yardage conversions?

I'd bet that, generally, short-yardage conversions are higher than 2pt conversions, even though they're the same yards-to-go ... and that 2pt conversion rates are, generally, less than 50% ... so, ii I'm right, probabilistically, it's better to get the 1pt than to try to get 2pts.

But, then again, I could be wrong.

Well, in that case, they'd probably have a better chance of winning if they didn't pull their starters after the first half. However, seeing how this is the PRE-season and, in my title, I asked about kicking PATs in the PRE-season, I can understand why they don't play the numbers in that regard.
