My first IDP Auction Draft

Recommended Posts

I have a year's worth of IDP experience in snake-draft leagues and this year I'm taking the plunge into IDP auctions. Most of the cap allocation tips I have heard refer to team defense leagues so I am going to throw out my initial strategy and hopefully some of you vets out there can comment. Here is the general league info:

Auction/IDP/Dynasty

35 man-roster: Start 1QB/2RB/3WR/1TE/1 Flex (R/W/T)--2LB/2DB/2DL/2 Flex (but not same position)

All TDs are 6 pts

-3 for INT/Fumbles Lost

Variable PPR: .5 for RB, 1 for WR, 1.5 for TE

1.5 tackle

.5 assist

Sacks are 5 pts

FF/FR are 4 pts

DL receive 6pt for INT and 2 pt for pass defensed

LB/DB receive 5pt per INT

DB receive 1.5pt per pass defensed

LB receive 1pt per pass defensed

There is a $500 cap so my initial thoughts are 80% ($400) on starters and the rest on my bench.

Of the 80% for starters, I'm thinking 60% ($240) of that on O and 40% ($160) on D. Breakdown by position my initial thoughts are:

$30 on QB

$80 on 3WR

$120 on 2RB

$10 on TE

$72 on 3 LB

$56 on 3 DB

$32 on 2 DL

$100 on 19 bench players

I realize I will have to adjust as the draft unfolds, but does this seem like a reasonable guideline?

Thanks!!

as much as I would like to help I have to say I have never done an IDP auction before....I would be interested to see how the auction shakes out...

good luck with it

I too have never done an IDP auction but that % breakdown seems pretty reasonable.
