Some ARI insider info...

A buddy of mine (we played high school ball together) who plays for ARI (he's a veteran DB) told me this:

Bryant Johnson is the most balanced WR of the guys they have there. It just so happens that he plays on the same squad as 2 other FF #1s.

He should be this year's Chris Henry in regards to the fact that most teams will have their best defenders focusing on stopping Boldin & Fitz. I don't think he has Henry's ability, but he did average 18.5 ypc last year (on 40 catches).

He also forecasted the cutting of 3rd rounder LB Buster Davis. He said he was too short and would get mauled, especially by OG Deuce Lutui.

So, if you have the roster space, keep an eye on B. Johnson.

I was in a 20 man league last year, so needless to say we had to go pretty deep for our players.

I picked up Johnson since he did have the potential, but was way to inconsistent to be used in fantasy.

See his game log for example.

That being said, he showed flashes of brilliance and I think will be much improved this year.

I think Boldin will have the most consistent- most productive #'s on AZ this year-- Moves back to the slot where he had his most productive season in his "rookie" season- He will be used as the teams gadegt team specialist ala Randel El/Hines Ward which will give him an extra TD or two. Also read he might get some GL touches as well!!

I like him for 1300+yrds and 10+ TD's

Fitz- 1100- 9-11 TD's :D

Johnson? :D

Who says that Boldin will play the slot? Nonetheless, I like Boldin a lot this year as well

From the article:

I mean come on...

I responded to the person asking me where I read Boldin will play at the slot-- yes those projections were high-- Ill take 1300 and 10

Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt plans to use WR Anquan Boldin in analogous ways to Pittsburgh Steelers WR Hines Ward next season.

Boldin will be moved from the "X" receiver to "Z" receiver, where he played in his rookie season. The team will move him around the formation, but he will line up in the slot more than he did last season.

I have Boldin in one league and Fitz in the other...keep the TDs coming.

Interesting bit of info here. B. Johnson always seems like one of those guys that is considered as a bust-out candidate, but who never actually pans out. In deep leagues, however, his upside definitely makes him rosterable.

Well, you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I think even 1300/10 is high. Ward only achieved 1300/10 once in his career, and Boldin maxed out at 8 TD his rookie year. I have him on a dynasty team, so I hope I'm wrong.

Aug. 14, 2007 - 11:08 a.m. ET

Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt says third receiver Bryant Johnson has been inconsistent during training camp.

In a contract year, Johnson needs to make sure he gives the new coaching staff plenty of reason to use three-receiver sets, because he has no chance of passing either Anquan Boldin or Larry Fitzgerald on the depth chart.
