Has anyone heard any update's on T. Holt's knee? Any St. Louis homer's out there with inside info? I have a chance to get him in an auction league tomorrow at a discounted price, and am trying to decide if I should do it or not.

There has been no news locally that would indicate that Holt's playing status for Sunday is even in question. He played early in the preseason, looked fine, and at that time he was calling his knee 70%. Now he says it's 90% and there are people thinking of benching him? He was held out of two games in the preseason (one where no starters played) and he said if it were a regular season game he would have played in the other one.

Unless something else breaks, you gotta start him.

So.......since it was posted on CBS sportsline, I will always question how realistic this information is, however.....

News: When asked if WR Torry Holt was 100 percent healthy, Rams coach Scott Linehan said Tuesday, "He looks 100 percent to me today." Holt is unofficially questionable for Week 1 vs. Carolina after missing a pair of preseason games with swelling in his left knee.

Analysis: It's not as if Holt, the fastest player to 10,000 yards in NFL history, is ready for the rocking chair. He has seven consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, and was the first player in NFL history with six of 1,300 in a row before last year when the knee problem hindered his effectiveness late in the season. Still, he finished with an impressive 93 catches, second in the NFC, for 1,188 yards. We don't like that his knee is at '70 percent,' which he said earlier this preseason, but he is still a No. 1 Fantasy WR. If he plays, start him in Week 1.

This eases my concern over his knee.......

No reason to bench Holt, people are reading into this knee issue too much. My guess is that he'll go 80 and a TD in the season opener.

I agree completely. Problem is, if he goes out week one and blows a hammy or something everyone's going to say "see, I told you!"

I don't know where this 90% thing came from, this is how these things get started, there's always someone that wants to play devils advocate, in this case it is important to know that he is not at 100% but that he was not 100% last year either and still played extremely well. Seriously though, if someone is going to throw out a percentage like 90% they need to include a somewhat respectable source.

If he's Gimmpy Who gets more yards Bennett or Bruce ?

Bruce, Bruce, Bruce. He's healthy, as fast as he's ever been, and Bulger loves him. In this offense, Bennett's a 2-4 catch per game and the occasional jump-ball touchdown guy. Think of a taller Kevin Curtis without all the annoying speed.

No, really, Bennett is a quality receiver and could put up big numbers if either Bruce or Holt miss time, but he's definitely #3 behind those two guys, no question.

i'm concerned. he wasn't the same old Holt the 2nd half last year. why wouldn't you be concerned?

Well, because he was hurt at the end of last year and had surgery to fix it in the offseason. The reason people are talking about him at all this year is just that he's still healing from the surgery, not the injury. His rehab is behind, no question about that, but his problems have been with some swelling and stiffness, not the pain that slowed him somewhat last year.

Still, week 17 last year 9 catches for 90 yards.

To be fair, though, from what I've read the swelling was due in part to taking helmet to the knee during practice. It wasn't like the knee got all swollen for no reason. Still, it is foreseeable that Holt will take some contact to his knee during the season, which means Holt owners will likely be dealing with this issue in the future.
