i_am_the_swammi
Everyone seems a bit at odds...even the Huddle writers Fantasy Depth charts show Young as the #2 RB. Free Agent Forecast, released today, recommends picking up Sapp over Young, based on the depth charts listed on the Bronco's home page. Any Denver homers want to jump in to give us some insight? Bronco Billy
After last year & what happened with the Bells, anything is a possibility (other than Henry being the featured RB). However, Young does bring something to the table that other RBs don't, which is explosive speed, especially on the edge. That would give him a leg up on being the #2 RB I would expect, especially given how he looked in the last 2 weeks of preseason (he made incredulous progress from when I saw him on the 1st day of training camp, when I didn't think he'd have a snowball's chance in Hell of making the roster). I expect Sapp to be the starting FB. I would expect Bell to fill as the #2 RB if Young falters/fumbles. Bell looked good in preseason, understands the O, and is a much better 1 cut runner than Sapp. That is pure speculation on my part.
Randall
From Draft Sharks- Broncos HC Mike Shanahan started a fantasy forest fire when he named Selvin Young the backup RB behind Travis Henry, while moving Mike Bell to fullback. However, his depth chart reflects nothing of the sort. At this point you all know that Shanahan purposely likes to mess with your head – so we’re inclined not to get involved here. We'll take Travis Henry or not take any of these guys at all. Besides, even if Young is the #2 RB, he’ll be replaced by Andre Hall or Cecil Sapp after one fumble. Heck, Rod Bernstine's only 42... they could call him up, or maybe even Sammy Winder? You might choose to go after Young and it might pay off one day:
