Randall
Are the saints a one-year wonder?or is the Colts "D" underrated? Everyone seems to be in love with the Saints!!! History shows us however......... Have you been holding this statement for awhile? As for the Colts D in cover 2 you ca often just plug new players in if you have a good base. Bob Sanders makes a huge difference in how they play.
millerx
3 qtrs into the season against the champs....yup 1 year wonder. Sorry... let me explain myself ....A) just about everyone thought this would be a "shootout" is the Colts "D" better than people anticipated, C) I 'm use to seeing teams like the Saints have one surprise year and then back to ordinary or below D) I'm use to the teams from the NFC South going from worst to first and then right back to average...... Admittedly,I'm most likely jumping the gun here, the Saints do seem to have a talented team, but they have in the past as well....... Grimm74
Admittedly,I'm most likely jumping the gun here Yes,....remember the Saints play in the NFC. They are a good NFC team. They will pay mosly NFC teams. The saints o line looks like junk. I assume this may improve. Yes the colts have a decent D. Maybe underated check back in ten weeks....at least
Tecmo
I don't know how they won so many games last year with that pitiful defense, they're going to have to score a lot of points again, but this time teams are better prepared against Bush
TDFFFreak
Good teams NEVER lose their first game, especially to other very good teams at the opposing team's home stadium, right?
CaptainHook
Colts D is underrated. Saints will be fine. They were scared to death of the Indy pass rush to run anything more than 3-5 step drops.

IrishPride
I think the NOS were outplayed and out coached on the road against the Superbowl champs? I never thought they would win but they will be OK, last time I checked.......one game doesn't ruin a season.......They got kicked in the nuts on the road, first game, against superbowl champs...enough said...... rebdog
the N.O.'s offense was not in rhythm yet. it was the first game on the road vs. the defending champs....with pressure to put points up. as for the N.O.'s defense, can you say "Jason David". they just attacked him all 2nd half. Avernus
also...one more thing I noticed is the Saints aren't quite getting the BS calls they were getting last year.... and yes...they did get alot of BS calls....and my knowledge goes all the way back to that Falcons game for the home opener..... it looked like Atlanta didn't even want to play or they threw the game... ...not that they did....but that was the most effed up game I ever watched... Capt. Waffle
There was ? about the DT down in Nawlins, and a very veteran staff and QB took advantage of weakness's(sp) in NO. The Colts have given a blueprint (for now) of how to attack the Saints of that you can be sure. When the Colts went up 17-10 it seemed the Saints went away from the gameplan and started pressing, also, I think the absence of Horn has affected the WR corp, as they looked out of sync for the most part last night. It will be very intresting to see where it all lays out after week 1 in the NFC, as the Bears have a mighty task in SD, it's only week 1 and alot football to be played, but two NFC heavy's could start 0-1, well the Saints already have -well the NFC is going to be fun to watch this year. Perchoutofwater
The Saints O is over rated, and the Indy D is under rated. Look at the games where Indy had Sanders last year, and their D played real well. When they didn't have Sanders they struggled. Well, they have Sanders now. While I like the potential of the Saints O, they need to stop trying to make Reggie Bush a RB except on 3rd downs. Deuce needs to be getting at least 18 -20 carries a game, and Bush needs to line up as a slot receiver on 1st and 2nd downs, and only play the RB position on 3rd and long. I have never been a fan of Bush as a RB on 1st and 2nd downs. He has great talent in the open field, but he gets tackled behind the line of scrimmage way too much to be a RB on 1st and 2nd downs. I personally thought they should have ran deuce a lot more early on to try and wear down the Indy defense that came out and played physical early... the Saints OL looked nothing like they were last season... ...nothing.. wildcat2334
Saints are still one of the best teams in a down NFC, and will be just fine. The O will get back on track, the D is obviously gonna be the problem all year. Everyone was a bit too high on them going into this year IMO, but still will be in the mix for the NFC championship. Rovers
I stayed away from Bush, Brees, Colston, et al, because last year NO was a team that just seemed to have "one of those years". Yes, they got calls last year, and I am always cautious of teams and players that could be potential one year wonders. I think the Saints are due for a letdown this year, and so will many of the players on that team from both a FF and NFL perspective. They have the nucleus of being a good tem for years to come, but this year... I have my doubts. The DB's are awful as a group, they don't have the LB corp yet to be a true contender, and teams have a years worth of film now to prepare for them. I thought all of the Saints players were being drafted too high this year, Brees, Bush, Duece, Colston.
myhousekey
Lots of knee-jerking today after 1 game. They got manhandled by the Super Bowl Champions for 1 half. Lets not jump overboard just yet. Edited September 7, 2007 by myhousekey
