AtomicCEO
Patriots | R. Moss limited Thursday Thu, 6 Sep 2007 19:07:56 -0700 Albert Breer, of the Metrowest Daily News, reports New England Patriots WR Randy Moss (hamstring) missed portions of practice Thursday, Sept. 6, with what is listed as a "team decision." It is believed the team is managing a hamstring injury that cost Moss four weeks of training camp. I have to wonder if this is actually Bellichick saying "Randy, you haven't practiced all preseason, and there's no f'n way I'm starting you on Sunday. Go ride that bike over there and get the hell off my field while the football players play football." Knowing a very little bit about how MB coaches, I'd say this sounds plausible. Caveman_Nick
The rule of thumbe seems to be that if a player practices on Thursday he will play on Sunday. Missing portions of practice tells me that he participated, and so I would guess he would play on Sunday.
Bill Swerski
Unless they're being extremely over-cautious with him, it sounds like he's still hurting a little. If that's the case, I'd hold off on him for another week if I were BB.
Vet
It's just Bellichick playing mind games. No matter, Darrelle Revis will shut Moss down anyway.

Bronco Billy
That's not the worst of it. The AP is reporting in today's paper that Brady missed a portion of Thursday's practice because of "his chronic right shoulder injury." Not a great start so far for the team many pundits have already crowned as this season's SB champs. I'm not concerned.....yet.

Bronco Billy
Yep. He's not injured. So NE held him out of part of a Thursday practice so he could, what? Call Giselle? Any time I hear the word throwing shoulder & chronic injury attached in a sentence referring to a NFL QB, it sure perks my ears up.

It's really not surprising to me that Brady or Moss were limited in practice. It's not like Brady NEEDS a full practice to know what he needs to do on Sunday. Whether or not Moss needs the reps is debatable but he's a veteran WR. Why wouldn't BB want to keep him fresh? Throw in the games BB likes to play with his injury reports and what's the bid deal? Now that the NFL has changed how teams report injuries I imagine BB will find more ways to fudge it.

I don't know why he would be held out of practice, but Brady's been on the injury report with a bum shoulder for a good part of the past two seasons. Given Belichick's well-known gamesmanship with the injury report, you'll have to excuse me if I'm a bit skeptical.
Vet
If I was Eric Mangini, I'd be putting 9 or 10 guys in the box on every play. I mean, with both Brady and Moss injured there is NO WAY New England will be throwing the ball on Sunday. NO WAY! This is great information...I better get this over to Jets camp right away! CaptainHook
So why wasn't Moss on the injury report then? Something sounds fishy to me.
