Vichawkfan
lJONES-DREW CARRYING A GRUDGE; GARRARD HIGH ON TAYLOR . Compiled by FootballDiehards Editor Bob Harris Bob Harris | Posted Friday September 7, 2007 @ 21:12 PT According to Orlando Sentinel staff writer Alan Schmadtke, Sunday's season opener with Tennessee makes for an indirect but nonetheless intriguing drama. Vince Young vs. Maurice Jones-Drew. Young, the Titans' quarterback, was last year's Rookie of the Year. Jones-Drew was second in the balloting. Young and Jones-Drew met each other at an annual college awards show in December 2005. They've been buddies since. "If I'm in a town I know he's in, I'll call him and we'll get together," Jones-Drew said. Still, Jones-Drew was sorely disappointed he didn't win rookie honors last season when he stunned the NFL with 941 yards and 16 touchdowns, 13 of them rushing. He isn't holding a grudge against Young, but he's keeping one against the voters and some of the media. "Damn right," he said. Not surprisingly, Young and Jones-Drew, along with starter Fred Taylor (1,146 yards last year), are the focus of both opposing defenses. "Their offense is all about their run game," Titans head coach Jeff Fisher said. I would suggest knowing what it's all about and stopping it are two different things. ... Meanwhile, Pro Football Weekly reports that quarterback David Garrard was impressed with the pre-season performance of the 31-year-old Taylor, who is 487 yards short of 10,000 yards for his career. "He's looked great. He's looking young, fresh legs. He's running hard," Garrard told PFW. "I think he's going to take right off and rack up some more yards. Hopefully, he can get close to 1,300, 1,400, 1,500 yards this year and have another breakout season for himself." let go MJD!!! no panic if he doesn't get 100 all purpose and a TD.....Reggie....
