Week 3 35-10 Cowboys Beat da Bears. In thier House! :D:D:wacko:

Record 3-0

Division 1-0

Injuries: Ellis-Out, Newman-Limited but welcome back

Offensive

This game was about Romo, the O line and again Marion Barber. Looks like we found ourselves a Quarterback and boy does it feel good to watch a guy that can make plays when protection isn't perfect. I made this statement in the advice forums last week " He (Romo) is accurate enough to be effective, he is elusive enough to by time and he has the receivers to do damage. I personally believe Romo will make a statement in this game and being a homer as I am I think it will be a positive one." Romo went for 329 yards and 2 Touchdowns. I counted at least 6 plays that Romo should have been sacked or hurried into a poor throw and instead made a great throw, on the money, and for a first down. I can't remember when I felt this comfortable about a Cowboys QB making plays on third down and long. He was only 4-13 on third down but it sure didn't seem like it. Owens came up short on 3rd and 19 on that 17 yard grab. The line is wearing down opponents and Barber is just a beast. I remember when a holding call or false started ended many of our chances to continue drives. Romo seems to overcome mistakes and Owens is playing great.

Flozell Adams is killing us with penalties. He has got to do better. Colombo is playing great as is Gurode. Davis was a great pick up as he is pounding DT's in the run game.

Defense

The D is playing more and more sound. Henry has already matched his last years INT numbers. Reeves had another solid outing in place of Newman. Spencer stepped up today and showed he is going to be a force to deal with. He is getting better each game. Ware was solid. Roy Williams is very off this year. He made a terrible play on Clark when he went for the hit instead of wrapping up which cost us about 40 yards. The defense will only get better as they learn Wade's scheme.

Special Teams

I have to give props to the special teams tonight. Keith Davis said that they were going to go out and stop Hester from hurting us. They did. Hester had NOTHING and I mean nothing. Hester was completely taken out of this game.

Things you may have missed:

Pat McQuistan's hustle may have kept this game from changing big time. Adam Archuleta picked up that blocked field goal and ran about 50 yards and was on his way to the endzone when out of nowhere Pat hustled down field to shove him out of bounds. If they score after Crayton drops a touchdown and then the Bears block the field goal this might have been a very different game........

Oh and by the way Adam Archuleta, when you wake up the train that hit you was Sam Hurd. WOW what a block.

Berrian drops that Touchdown pass just after Crayton's drop and the blocked field goal. Thank Berrian.........

Nick Folk, our rookie kicker has been perfect. That 44 yarder was perfect down the middle as most all of his kicks have been and he looks like he can hit from distance accurately.

Hamlin made a great play on that fake field goal. He had blanket coverage on the tight end who slipped out on the fake 53 yarder by the Bears. Great awareness by him and the coaching staff to know that Gould has never attempted a 50 plus yarder.

The Bears got beat up in this game. That's right the Bears Defense was beat down by the Cowboys O line. It may be a culmination of three straight weeks of having to overcome Rex and their offense but the Bears were dragging in the 4th quarter.

Romo is amazing in the pocket. How he steps to the right place everytime and keeps his eyes down field, then is able to put the ball where he does is just uncanny. I love watching this kid.

3-0 Baby

The ball is snapped over Romo's head, he then chases it down, turns up field, makes a move on a linebacker, and gets the first down. 99 times out of 100 that play goes for a loss of 30 or turned over to the other team or a defensive touchdown. The remaining 1% of the times, it is picked up and thrown out of bounds for a incomplete pass. But that play marks the beginning of "Romo lore" as Buck put it.

UNREAL..................I Loved every yard of it. :D:D

Oh and Demon..............It's baaacckkkkkkkkkkk. Oh man the way things are going, your gonna get tiiiiirrrred of me.

The two things that my Cowboy's loving self liked the most about yesterday's game:

1. We have a QB who can actually move around when he needs to, and not it panic, but with a purpose

2. Owens was not pissed at all that he did not get all of the receptions and TDs. He showed he can be a good team mate when he wants to.

Week 5 Cowboys 25 Bills 24

Record 5-0

Division 1-0

Afterthoughts:

The Bills lost that game on one play caused by the Threat of Romo. Even after 6 turnovers, Dick Jauron believed they needed more points then a field goal to beat the Cowboys. That speaks volumes about what he thinks of Romo. As it turns out he was right, but 3 would have won the game and he should have run the ball. I couldn't believe he threw it there.

What a game this week. That is all I have to say. I hope Newman gets better, as he will need his jets to cover Moss this coming week. Not good seeing him caught from behind like that. NE was watching close and you can expect Moss to go deep all day working on that foot.

This might be the game that brings the team together, like the Chicago vs. ARZ game last year.

Nick Folk, you are clutch Kid. Wow, that was a great draft pick this year fellas.

Hats off to Buffalo..They had a great game on D and flustered Romo..Dallas needs to get the running game moving a little better..This NE game will be a true measuring stick..5-0 is great and I am a believer but last night was a reality check. 6 turn overs is very hard to overcome..I dont care if they were playing Wichita state..They gritted out a hugh win . I think they will play better next week..Folk is money so far..As a rookie on that stage after the bush league last second timeout to drill that kick again told you all you need to know about him..

Week 6

Patriots 47 Cowboys 27 :D:wacko:

Record 5-1

Division 1-0

What happened? Well Brady and Co. proved to be a way better Offense then we could contend with. The Pats came in and dominated the fourth Quarter. We had no answer for thier passing game as Brady went career on us with 5 TD's and a gazillion yards. Wes Welker dominated in the slot and Reeves played as good as he could with the limited experience he has but with Henry out and Newman gimpy, we could not muster any stops. Seemed like last week took something out of them this week as they started with no energy. The fumble for TD seemed to wake everyone up.

Offensively we moved the ball fine when we had it. Penalties killed us. Holding calls, false starts etc. One very cosltly one on 4th and 1 when Barber gets the first down to keep the drive alive. Wouldn't have mattered much anyway as the Defense was gased by the 4th quarter. However, 27 points on the Pats is saying something and could of and should of been more. That's encouraging especially after the nightmare of a game Romo had last week. There was a Julius Jones siteing today as he ripped off two consecutive nice runs.

Romo was fine and with more possesions would have done some good things. I was impressed that he had no picks until the late garbage one. I still don't get the call to Hurd on a fade late in the fourth. That had to be points, which shows the difference betweeen Brady and Romo. Big run back had to turn into 7, period, no excuses. Deflated an already bummed out D, then told to go stop them again twice. Not going to happen.

Defensively, I thought we played very well despite giving up 47 points. I know that sounds wierd but they pressured Brady and forced a fumble for a score and had they not been left on the field all day may have had more to give in the 4th. They stuffed the run all day. No defense is going to stop the Patriots from scoring but we have to do a better job in coverage which I suspect will improve when Henry gets back and if Newman gets healthy.

Brady is just playing great. Hats off to the Patriots as they are as dominant a team as you can be. :D You showed us how dominant football is played and I hope we can play that way late this year when it counts.

All in all, I think this was a good experience for the Cowboys who now know what it's going to take to play with the Big Boys and we played them tough for 3 quarters.

Without the stupid penalties we should have scored in the thirty points range which tells me we can play with anyone.

Tough beat down this week but we will be better for it and we WILL have a strong year this year.

On to the Vikings.

By the way, Great run by Barber saving the Safety. Wow that kid is a stallion!

Oh and that little extra shove at the end of the game for 7 more, that was bushleague and won't be forgotten. Should have been a neal down. Parcells did that last year out of respect for the other team which is the right thing to do.

Week 9

Cowboys 38 Eagles 17 :D:D:wacko::D:D;):headbang:

Record 7-1

Division 2-0

This one will be short and sweet.

EAGLES GOT DESTROYED AT THE LINC!

Offensive line dominated. Cole meet Flo and Kearse meet Colombo. They didn't sniff Romo. Cole did not touch Romo once and Kearse didn't even make the stat sheet. TO goes wild for 174 and a TD in the Linc.

Jason Witten was a monster and made a manlike play by taking hit, losing his helmet, then take off for 53 yards.

Defense shuts down Mcnabb and his sorry WRs. Henry in his first game back gets a pick and sures up the secondary. Hamlin makes is presents felt by making a huge pick just before half enabling the score to go to 21-7 at half time.

Effectively this game escorted the Eagles to the seller/cellar this year. Both apply equally well......
