cre8tiff
Dang, Here I was thinking Bush will light up the has-been TB DEF, then DMD goes an projects him being the dog this week. I understand Deuce getting his 70,1 but 30,30 for Bush? I was considering between Bush and Benson, and DMD has Benson going OFF. My head is doing this ---> Granted Benson had 19 carries last week and this week is facing a less than fearsome KC D, but come on...
Hat Trick
I noticed the same thing. Everyones opinion is different. DMD is pretty dang accurate most of the time, but this is one time I disagree with him. I really honestly don't see Benson "beaking out" against the Chiefs. I have Benson, AD, and Bush in a local and I'm starting Bush and AD.

Hat Trick
I may start Bernard Pollard. He'll be happy to hit Benson as he comes through the hole. Love this kid. I'd really like to tell everyone how I think the Chiefs will make this a game this week, how the Defense is improved. I honestly think they are, I just don't see the Bears Off as having the weapons to beat the Chiefs, much as I felt about the Texans which I was correct on, you can't win a ball control style game (which Herm plays) and commit turnovers, miss FG's and leave your defense out there. This is the Chiefs nemesis, the Defense is top half right now at this stage and will get better IF the offense picks it up. I really think this can be a better game than anyone thinks it will be. We'll see I guess. The negative energy around KC about the Chiefs just plain sucks, I really just hate to have to listen to it. I am a diehard fan through thick and thin and would rather not hear all the negativity, especially this early on........I think I know what its like to be a Lions fan now. DMD
I certainly do not blame anyone for going with their gut on starting players. As for Bush, he had two games against the Buccaneers last year: At home week 5 - 9 carries 23 yards + 11 catches for 63 yards on road week 9 - 11 carries for (-5) yards + 4 catches for 22 yards So I am projecting more than he had ever rushed for against TB before and about the average of what he had receiving. I also have much more respect for the TB defense at home than I do on the road. I also like the NO offense to come to life more this week with ten days to prepare after a bad showing in IND. When you expect many receiving yards for Bush, that typically happens when they are in games that they are forced to pass to suceed and Bush gets the benefit of being a great outlet for Brees while the secondary is back covering the WRs. What I am waiting to see is how the Saints look like in a bad game in the future because all those passes to Eric Johnson last week used to go to Bush last year. As for deciding between he and Benson, I can appreciate the quandary. Far as I am concerned, this is a rather pivotal game for Benson who really needs to shine. At home against a KC team that should be swamped by the CHI defense, Benson should get a high amount of carries and this is a Chiefs team that allowed the Texans to run for 106 yards on 29 carries last week with split carries between Ahman Green and Ron Dayne. Last week was only one week. What would you have done if this was the first week of the season?
kingfish247
Here I was thinking Bush will light up the has-been TB DEF, then DMD goes an projects him being the dog this week. The Tampa D was supposed to be 'has-been' last year and held Bush in check. I can see Deuce faring much better while Brees takes advantage of what Tampa gives them... which will likely be any receiving option not named Bush. Last week: Played Bush AND Benson Got Ward this week. NOTE to the Noobs: This is not advised as a method to get DMD to respond. He has many firearms, and is from Texas. 'nuff said. Bill Swerski
Dang, Here I was thinking Bush will light up the has-been TB DEF, then DMD goes an projects him being the dog this week. The "has-been" TB DEF held SA in check for about 2 1/2 quarters on Sunday. They're not great, but they certainly don't suck, either. So I'm not really sure what you're expecting from Bush, especially with Deuce getting half or more of the carries.

Isnt being held in check for 2 1/2 quarters kind pointless? I mean, it really isnt holding anyone in check if the other 1 1/2 he does well. irish
I normally don't open threads declaring that "DMD is down on bush". When your name is Cedric Benson. For the record I have Bush as a Top 10 RB this week with about 120-130 yards a possible touch one way or the other and about a handful of catches. I have Benson a little lower but Top 15 with about 115-120 yards, a td and a couple catches. Bush should bounce back nicely. If he doesn't and the Saints struggle again it's probably a sign that the Saints are in a bit of trouble.
cre8tiff
Bump to show you jokers what we pay DMD for. Note that Bush went for EXACTLY 60 total yards, no TDs. Oh, and I went totally against my gut and started Benson over Bush. Now that Benson went over 100, I'm waiting for the TD... Thanks DMD!! Bush can still practically lay a statistical egg and score okay.
