Chief Dick
I will be the first to warn you. This has trap game written all over it for the Bears. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, gives the Chiefs any chance on Sunday. I see the Chiefs running, and running, and running, and running some more. I can see them run 50 times and pass 10 the whole game. Herm is going to try like heck to make this a 6-3 game. The Chiefs defense is not as bad as you all think. They gave up 13 to the Texans last week. The Texans had a great drive to finish the game, but the Chiefs D had been on the field all day long. I can see them playing man to man on the Bears WR and going after Grossman ALL DAY. I'm not saying the Chiefs win this game, but I can see this game coming down to a late score in the 4th quarter. Throw in the fact the Chiefs quietly have been pissed about their showing last week and the disrespect this week, and I see a motivated Chiefs team playing hard on Sunday. You and Muck really disappoint me sometimes. If I had started this post for some reason I feel like neither of you would have agreed. I truly feel everything you said in this post. I honestly think we can win. I think the Chiefs can run on the Bears, yup I said it. No I didn't say that the KC Oline is better than SD Oline, I just think with the play I saw last weekend from the oline that it can be done if they create the right mismatches. Like I have said all along, Herm finds ways to win, it's ugly 99% of the time, but its hard to doubt the guy, for me anyway. I am growing ever tired of his clock managment however. I'd bet Muck fimly disagrees with your post unless you two had lunch together today and you know something I don't.

cory_n_az
The Chiefs simply don't have any sort of passing attack to stop them from putting 8-9 in the box. And they're down their best wideout Kennison as well. Never say never, but the only way I see the Chiefs having a remote shot is running 40+ times successfully with LJ and Bennett, griding clock and wearing down the Bears D. My Prediction: 35-17 Chicago. Edited September 14, 2007 by cory_n_az
Grits and Shins
Is it possible for the Chefs to beat the Bears this weekend, yup. Is it likely, not very. Having said that ... the way the Chefs win the game is if Grossman has one of his "off" days ... 'cause when Grossman is "off" it is very ugly. Is it possible for the Brownies to beat the Bengals, yup. I find it less likely than the Chefs beating the Bears. For this to happen it would require that Anderson have a Romo-week 1-like performance.

LooGie
Hey Chief, and all KC fans, can I ask you a question. I didn't wanna start another thread, but it's been pressing on my mind enough for me to hijack one. (sorta hijack i guess) First of all, absolutely KC could win. But they will not. No chance, no way, no how. (i would love if they did though) and here's why I say that. In my honest and sincere opinion: Herm Edwards. I asked about this when you were doing your name change poll (which I see you no longer mention me in your siggy ) were you happy they took him and why? We barely touched on it back then, because I thought maybe I could be wrong, and also, i didn't wanna rain on anyone's parade. But there are no parades now. Herm has officially taken this team with SB aspirations, and turned them into a rebuilding team in 1 year. He never did anything with the Jets, except bitch and try to get more money, which he never earned on the field. The best player on your team could end up being Rex Grossman this weekend, and if he plays ok, KC will not win. So, how come no one is calling Herm out on this? Am I off track, or out of my mind? Am I ignorant and blind (in THIS situation )? Do you want him as your coach for years to come?

McBoog
If all the ice melts in the North Pole by Sunday, then the Chiefs have the same chance to beat the Bears. San Diego showed VERY little of their offense last week. Very vanilla, except for setting up LTs pass perfectly with he play calling. The Chargers D shut the Bears down and that game and with a pre-season style offense, could have put up 24 in that game (blocked kick and bogus non-call on the goal line). KC will have little chance doing anything against that Bears D. If they couldn't move it against the Texans.....

rattsass
I am a Chiefs fan, but not really feeling it right now. I am a realist first and Chiefs fan second. There is no way in hell they win this game. I hate to pile on, but I am not looking at this team with rose colored glasses. Their defense will be asked to do way too much this season, and eventually even the defense that looks so improved will falter under the weight of an offense that lacks even one NFL caliber receiver, and depends on play-calling that is as predictable as the sunrise. Rex can have a bad game. It could happen. But the Bears hung right in there with a far superior opponent last week on the road. If the Chiefs keep the game within 2 TDs I will be stunned. As for the question asked about Herm? I'd rather have Marty back, and I was soooo ready for him to go when he finally did. I have zero faith in Herm, and while I thought he was a decent hire at the time, I still think they should have given Saunders a shot instead. My honest opinion? Herm Edwards will never lead a team to a championship in the NFL, because even if he assembles the talent to do so, I am convinced he will screw it up. The playoff game against the Colts last January told me all I need to know about Herm.
Sturphy
Herm does/did make it difficult to believe in the Chiefs/Jets.
tomfin2000
I admire you guys for your loyalty to your team, but this matchup is so bad that I'm actually benching LJ this week and starting Edge and Adrian Peterson instead. Like cory-n-az said, there's going to be 8 or 9 in the box all day long. That may be the case all season, and I still think LJ will produce in spite of it, but not against the Bears and not on the road in Chicago. irish
Sorry CD, have to disagree with you in a major way!! This game is the furthest thing from a trap game. The Chiefs are bad on offense and not very good on defense. The game is at Soldier field and the Bears had a rough week last week. This game has blow-out written all over it in favor of the Bears. Even if the Chiefs wanted to slow the game down and run the ball, the Bears know that running the ball is all the Chiefs can do as they don't respect the KC passing game one bit. The entire defense will be in the box as nobody for the Chiefs on the outside scares them. The Chiefs most likely won't score and the Bears will run and pass all over them. Benson should have a rock solid game along with Gross and Berrian.

KC will have little chance doing anything against that Bears D. If they couldn't move it against the Texans..... Put the koolaid down. Whenever they tried to run a pass play Rivers overthrew, underthrew and just plain didn't throw very well at all. If they 'held back' for any reason it wasn't to NOT reveal anything it was because whenever they tried to run something 'normal' for Rivers the Bears ate them up. They could have put up 24 in that game, but if that punt didn't bounce off a wire and luck bounce into McGowan, blah blah blah. It was a tight game, and you guys eeked out a win at home, which is to be expected from a solid team. I don't see KC/Chi being a trap game, and if being dissed or having motivation plays into this, then the Bears have the same fuel this week as the Chiefs (if not more) and they're at home. SteelerMurf
I wouldn't put money on it. But I do think KC is going to win or lose by less than a TD. The Bears do not play well vs. the run without Brown (this is just my opinion from memory their defense always suffers greatly without him). I also think they have a harder time with big backs than little backs. I think Rex will put too much pressure on himself and make some bad mistakes. Like someone else said the Chiefs defense is not that bad. This game will be close and I for some reason have though all week that KC can win this game. I don't think that locker room in Chicago is too unified either. Edited September 15, 2007 by SteelerMurf

Nod! If Da Bears can't win this game in the 1st or 2nd quarter, then that is their legacy for the season. And it bodes badly! KC is probably the weakest team we'll face all season. If we don't kick ass this game we are done! LJ is NOT a betterback than LT. Da bears should shut him down nicely. Gonzo worries me. I have to play him this week or I play Des! Hillenmeyer will have to play well! Shut down this 2 pony team, and Da Bears win big. JMHO! If not......................welcome to the 2008 season! So while what you say is 100% accurate there is a new approach this year in the backfield. The results will be clear this game, for sure.
