SKK1
I'll try to give all info. needed, yet be brief. The league I joined this year has been together 5 years. The host site is RTSports. It's a 12 team, IDP league and we were to draft 20 players on draft night, and not be able add the final 2 roster spots or any trades/ waiver pick-ups until after week 1 games were complete. One of the owners was late (2 hours) and had the commishioner draft his team until he arrived. When he did arrive he finished drafting his team. The starting rosters include: QB 2RB 2WR TE K DEF./SPEC.TEAM DB DL LB.the rest is open to each owners pref. on what they want. The guy that showed up late, ended up with the correct number of people drafted, but, failed to draft a single DL. A week after our draft, I was setting my line-up and noticed the problem with his roster. RTS rules state you must enter all 11 positions to enter a starting line-up. The problem he ran into was that the league site wouldn't let him set his team up, and he would have to wait until league rules allowed him to make changes. Three days before the reg. season started, the commishioner went into the DL pool and changed this guys roster to make it legal. His defense was that he thought he picked a DL that wouldn't be a scoring factor, otherwise "Joe" would have to forfiet the game. He also said that he shouldn't lose the game just for making a mistake at the draft. I realize that it's too late to correct the problem now, but, I just wanted any feed back on if this was handled fairly or if we should have went by the league rules. thanks
Dbaxx
I don't have a real problem with it--the commish should've sent out info to the league on the problem and his solution. If there were any gripes about it, let him know. A 5 year league is pretty stable and stable for a reason. Did he tell anybody he was going to do that? MonkeyOne
Afraid I think you should have gone by the league rules unless a majority vote approbed it. We all win and lose to some extent based on who we draft, and if you don't draft a full lineup knowing you can't make any changes to after week one, well, you have to live with that and lose. SKK1
That's what I was thinking. We all new the rules months ahead of the draft.
Skippy
I would have been in favor of him playing his game minus the points for the DL player. I would not have made him forfiet the game on what seems to be an honest mistake. I would not have let him gain any points for the DL player though. Sort of meeting in the middle in my mind. If RTS does not allow that sort of flexibility to the commish then I would move on to a new host for the league.
Chief
I don't see how anyone can fail to draft a complete roster, thats ridiculous and stupid......... deserve to lose the game.
SKK1
appreciate the input, ended up with mixed reaction in the league too.

We're playing fantasy football to have fun and to have someone forfeit over a stupid technicality is pretty lame. Being penalized by scoring a 0 for his DL position makes the most sense.
