Outshined
Not a good start to the year in a couple leagues of mine... LJ and Maroney in one league and Cedric Benson and LJ in another. Edited September 17, 2007 by Outshined

tomfin2000
I had the good fortune of drafting Maroney in one of my keeper leagues last year. I say "good fortune" because until you own actually own a player on one of your teams and you're paying close attention to what they're really doing on the field week in and week out, you don't always know what they're really all about. To cut a long story short, all four of my teams are Maroney free in 2007, and his medicocre performance so far this season doesn't surprise me a bit. tomfin2000
Will I be saying this about Benson next year? Probably. He's another guy I avoided like the plague. He did have a 100 yard game today though, and I think he will continue to get enough carries to put up decent numbers. He also doesn't come with the boatload of headaches you get when you own a Patriot RB.
WorstCoachingEver
Come on guys. That's easy to play Monday morning QB on Maroney now that we know he is going to split significant carries with Morris. Nobody could have foreseen that. The knock on Maroney was his durability. Benson on the other hand, is a completely different matter. He runs with no purpose and he doesn't split significant carries with his backup. tomfin2000
Come on guys. That's easy to play Monday morning QB on Maroney now that we know he is going to split significant carries with Morris. Nobody could have foreseen that. If you watched the first half of that third preaseason game against the Panthers, you could have. There were plenty of red flags prior to that as well, but you really had to read between the lines to see them. Like I said, I had Maroney in a keeper league and I was getting prepared to trade him, so I was watching him in particular and the Patriots RB situation in general like a hawk during the preseason. Also, I'll add one more thing and this goes back to my original point: When I was making my playoff run last season, I was scouring the waiver wire for guys like Ron Dayne and Arleen Harris because I had no confidence whatsover in starting Maroney. If I couldn't start him when I needed him the most last season, then why would I want him as my starter this season? I don't blame people for drafting him, because the FFL media did a great job of making it sound like it was a few minor injuries and Corey Dillon that held him back, but that's not what I saw as a Maroney owner last year. Jackass
he's the Ronnie Brown of last year. Overhyped first round pick who will end up with 5 td's and 1000 yards.
Sleeping King
You guys do know that gameplans sometimes take people out of the game. The Patriots game plan was clearly to spread out the Chargers defense and attack the secondary. If you were expecting a monster game from Maroney you were foolish. San Diego has a monster rush defense. That said he averaged over 5 a carry. Gameplans change, they will have plenty of games with a run first mentality. I can understand the panic if he were doing something like Ronnie Brown and averaging 2-3 yards a carry. Give it time this offense is awesome. Sarge replies, I do not rate them at all they are a bunch of cheater that do not deserve to be in the NFL. I would definitely put OU in front of them. Matter of fact OU would beat them 210-6. They would only get the 6 out of mercy. ...fart! Edited September 17, 2007 by Sleeping King

Sgt. Ryan
So the offense and defense isn't good?So where do they rank in your mind? offense looked great tonight, and it helps cover up the weakness's of the defense. Make no mistake NE is a top 5 team, probably top 3 in the AFC. But get real, this 19-0 spew after this week is ridiculous at best. Wouldnt surprise me at all, if San Diego returned this favor in the playoffs. Norv clearly didnt have SD ready for a game like this on the road tonight. And Rivers needs all the reps he can get, to get back to where he was at the end of last season. He certainly doesnt look like the same QB as the one brining his team back from 2-3 TDs at the end of last yr.
