msaint
This kid was looking like a pretty decent Flex in PPR leagues w/ how much the Pack throws, hope this doesn't slow him down... James Jones suffered a right hamstring injury in practice Thursday. He continued to perform drills as the Packers' medical staff looked on, but was eventually removed from the practice field about 35 minutes after he was injured. The Packers would be forced to start Ruvell Martin against San Diego Sunday if Jones and Greg Jennings (hamstring) are both sidelined. Big Score 1
Man the Pack is having a lot of skill position injuries & it sounds like hammy injuries are contagious to their young WR's.
Randall
The Packers had 15 players on the injury report Wednesday, and several of them -- including starting cornerbacks Al Harris and Charles Woodson -- left practice without doing much again today. PaulOttCarruth
Green Bay - As if the Packers didn't have enough injury problems entering Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers, rookie wide receiver James Jones pulled a hamstring on Thursday and immediately left practice. Coach Mike McCarthy said after practice that Jones tweaked his hamstring and, as a precaution, he sent to get rehab right away. Jones was asked if he was concerned in his brief locker room appearance. "Nah," Jones said, as he walked away.
PaulOttCarruth
More on Jones from a different source: Injury updates from McCarthy Updating a previous post, coach Mike McCarthy said receiver James Jones "tweaked" his hamstring in practice this morning and was sent for rehabilitation as a precaution. "I'm a little nervous," McCarthy said. "He wanted to practice, but he got sent up top." Brushing past reporters in the locker room, Jones was asked whether he's concerned about the injury. He responded, "Nah." Meanwhile, receiver Greg Jennings (hamstring) "passed his test" today and could return to practice Friday if he feels good in the morning. "I told him, 'Call me as soon as you get up,'" McCarthy said. Al Harris (back) felt better today, but fellow cornerback Charles Woodson (hip) was about the same, McCarthy said. Running back Vernand Morency was sore again after participating in part of practice Wednesday and won't play this week. "Another week or two will help him," McCarthy said. "I think if this was a playoff game, he'd be out there playing." -- Tom Pelissero, tpelisse@greenbaypressgazette.com
