ffry
I'm in a fantasy league that has this guy who likes to make transactions just to screw other players. He openly admits that he does it, in fact and I quote, "that's what fantasy football is all about". It's his favorite part of the game. Now my question is, am I wrong to be annoyed by this? Should I just live with it and move on? Is it just part of the game or is this guy being a dick? Would like to hear from commissioners and owners alike. He sits with one hand on the remote the other on the mouse just waiting for injuries or benchings.

Sturphy
Don't have all FAs available for immediate pickup. Yeah, this point exactly. Waiver systems where the fastest mouse wins are totally lame.
Grits and Shins
It has been my experience that owners that make "blocking moves" typically don't win out in the end. They are more worried about making sure somebody else doesn't get a particular player that they don't pay enough attention to their team and its needs. So let him take his enjoyment during the regular season as he snipes players he perceives other people want ... then you take enjoyment in the post season when he is watching. peepinmofo
When I 1st started playing, I was kind of like that... haha I remember a time when my opponent had no one at QB because of bye week and injuries, so I went to the WW, picked up every single player, and dropped em all. He couldnt pick any up because they were locked. haha I wouldnt do that now.... Not in the leagues I play in now... If it were a local (which I dont have anymore:( )I would do it to piss people off if I didnt like them. Thats how all my locals have always been. Certain leagues have rules saying that once you pickup a player you may not cut him until the following week, which greatly prevents this type of activity. STL Fan
In my local, people are so worried about other people's teams that they have almost eliminated trades, and occasionally resort to picking up a guy just to keep someone else from getting him. They're so afraid to get a buch of flak from the league about "making the other guy's team better" they hardly trade at all. A good trade benefits both teams, right? The hieght of this behavior is when you grab a guys backup when it's announced he is out, then float him in a trade to the guy who owns the starter that you just sniped the backup from. That's a classic.

We don't have this rule but when transactions cost $ it reduces this type of activity as well

XBonesX
You have to have your commish run a revolving, silent waiver wire each week and all transactions go through him. We do this in all my leagues now, and once you make 1 pickup, you goto the back of the line. It really helps out.
Imageek
I have been apart of a league where one guy drafted everyones back up running back just waiting for the number one to go down. His team sucked and he didn't care he just wanted to screw with people and take their back ups well before then should have been drafted. Trust that everyone he has contact with in a day thinks of him the same way you do, dick!
tbimm
Kind of a different situation but I did it this week. I have been trying to swing a trade for Andre Johnson and I have tried everything. This guy in my local will not budge. Well with the injury I lowered my offer a bit and snagged Jacoby Jones off the waiver wire just to twist the knife! Still no deal but I have Jones.
