ReturnToSender
Anyone have any news on this beast, what his status is. I am thinking of trading for him and stashing him for later, and trying to figure what to give up for him.

CaptainHook
He was limping pretty badly on the sideline during the Colts/Texans game. Heard a report that he actually sprained two ligaments. I doubt he's back for a few more weeks.

Was he wearing a knee brace or boot of some sort that might have caused him to limp?
keggerz
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/5161803.html Johnson will not return this week, either. Sunday was the first time he was allowed to bend his knee since suffering the sprain Sept. 16 against the Carolina Panthers. Johnson sprained the posterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament in his left knee, and must wait until they both heal. Gros Membres!
Sep 27 (KFFL) Megan Manfull, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans WR Andre Johnson (knee) had his immobilizer removed this week, but he has been walking with a noticeable limp. Johnson is out for Week 4. Sep 27 (Rotowire) Johnson (knee) had the immobilizer removed, but is still walking with a noticeable limp, the Houston Chronicle reports. Recommendation: Johnson will not play this weekend against the Falcons. Andre' Davis is expected to start in his place. My guess is he's back for the week 6 divisional matchup with JAX. Anyone else? TheShiznit
I just traded Javon Walker and Sammy Morris for him and Tony Hunt. My guess is I got 4 more weeks to ride out then I have a stud till the end. I am undefeated and hope to stay that way this week....and have some good matchups the next few if Kevin Jones can play next week fully. The Waterboy
Call me doom and gloom, but it's possible he may not back until week 11 after the bye. I read he had a sprained ACL and a sprained PCL. I sprained just my PCL once and it took me two months of rehab to get it about right. The degree of sprains I know can vary, also, so one person's experience is really not a great gauge of another. But I wasn't limping around after I did it, either. A PCL alone is funny injury, the ligament accounts for only front to back stability, so you can jog on it, but any kind of exploding quick movement pulls the ligament just a bit and sends a dagger of pain up your knee, which causes you immediately to pull up. I'd be okay walking around, but the second I'd try and make a jarring movement to..say step up into a golf cart, it would just kill. I think ACL is a little worse, because that is the lateral side-to-side movement. From people I've spoken to who've torn an ACL, you really limp. Anyway, his rehabilitiation will of course be accelerated compared to some shmo on the street, but with the added damage to the ACL, who knows. It may be in his best interests to rest depending on whether Houston is "in it" or not. But I think a lot of people are going to remember Jerry Rice trying to come back too early after an ACL. Sometimes it just isn't wise to rush these things, a sprain is really a micro-tear, and if you think about it, you're much more likely to completely tear the thing if you don't let it heal properly. Not the answer we're all looking for, I know. But Andre for the last 6 weeks of the season is better than no Andre at all.
Ziachild007
This is the first I have heard about an ACL. Have a link or source on that?
Gros Membres!
Here's what I found in regards to the PCL and ACL. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/5161803.html I guess by sprained knee. They mean the whole thing.

raoul duke
I was thinking Week 8, too, but the Texans also have a bye in week 10. So if it goes that long, I don't see why they couldn't easily push him back til week 11 with the thought that it's unlikely they make the playoffs anyway, so why push it. I'm in a win-now situation, so I just traded him in a keeper league for Brandon Marshall.
Bill Swerski
Just out of curiosity, what does the "1600" stand for? Is that the number of yards he predicted for this season or something?
