Portis Interview

What does that have to do with anything? Portis didn't see it as a huge deal... That doesn't make him a jerk, he just sees something different you do.

I guess we have different standards when it comes to how our teammates earn our respect then. I consider the whole package (incl. intelligence, morals, social awareness, and upbringing), and not just someone's "teamwork" or "generosity".

You must of been one of those guys who didn't care if he won or lost, but just wanted to have fun.

No, but winning isn't always everything.

I'm not saying I wouldn't appreciate having Portis on my team if I were a Redskin -- I'm just saying I would appreciate it more if he had a character etc. worth more of my respect.

Wrong ! Anyone who doesn't think dogs killing each other and people watching it a "big deal" IS absolutly a jerk.

Character is the perception of the individual.

Intelligence... Frank Gore has a learning disability... I guess he's a bad teammate.

Morals... Who in the hell are you to decide whats morally right or wrong? Each individual has different morals. Just because he doesn't see dog fighting as a felony doesn't mean that he does it himself. Or that he promotes it.

Upbringing... My best friends mother was addicted to drugs, his father committed suicide. He had a terrible upbringing. He's also the cleanest, nicest person you'll ever meet...

Thank you P.C. Police... Anyone who disagrees with the mainstream is a jerk... :D

Having a Learning Disability (LD) does not determine if you are intelligent or not. I tested someone whose IQ was in the genius range but had great difficulty reading. His brain simply couldn't process the letters on the page.

The way an LD is diagnosed:

First, one's IQ is measured. Whatever the IQ turns out to be, it is expected that ones academic skills (reading, writing, math) should fall in the same range. When one's academic skills fall significantly below one's IQ, a learning disability is diagnosed.

One should not confuse an LD with mental retardation. A mentally retarded person usually can't read because he has signficant and severe intellectual limitations.

Every now and then, I like to drop some knowledge.

Based upon this definition, I think it is fair to say that we have a number of huddlers who have "learning ultra-abilities".
