polksalet
K, because this stuff is so cheap and healthy I have been trying to incorporate it into many of my recipes. The only hitch is that it is quite gross. Meatloaf is the only thing I have put it in where I can successfully mask the taste/texture. Any ideas? Big Country
You can make burgers out of it. Mix in a little terriyaki sauce. You can brown it and use it in pasta sauce as an alternative to ground beef. Basically, anything that you could use ground beef in, you can subsitute this, just you need to season a little more heavily as it is a much blander meat than ground beef. polksalet
How do i make it not feel like sand while I am chewing it?
Big Country
How do i make it not feel like sand while I am chewing it? Not sure how you are cooking it, but I've never had that problem. Maybe you are overcooking the turkey. It seems to cook very fast as it is a very lean cut, so it will dry out very quickly if you over cook it. Chili is a great option as Tool says
Hugh B Tool
How do i make it not feel like sand while I am chewing it? first thing came to mind was : "Use sandless turkey" and "turkeys don't surf". Though I usually mix it with other meats such as spicy sausage (when making chili, tacos, quesidillas etc). Or you could probaly mix a bit of tofu in there and be REALLY heaalthy. Never tried it. but heard it makes good burgers. Seasoning and mixing ground bird is absolutely key.

Egret
I like to use the ground white turkey as it's a bit healthier than the alternative. I makes yummy sloppy joes. Mrs. Egret has been bugging me to make stuffed cabbage. I haven't made it since I gave up red meat three years ago. I might try making it with turkey. Cameltosis
It sounds like from recent posts that it might be good with cheese and bacon.
wildcat2334
I eat ground turkey all the time- The lean is pretty good IMO- the extra lean has zero flavor and tastes like chit though........ You can make some good, quick turkey tacos - just throw some taco seasoning in- presto - spices it up pretty nicely
polksalet
85/15 patties seasoned with slap ya mama, garlic powder, dried onion flakes, fired in canola oil. I then drowned it in turkey gravy with shrooms. xcellent
Lady.hawke
Two recipes I found online and have enjoyed often: Turkery Burgers Turkey Meatballs I use my own sauce for the meatballs. I guess turkey benefits from being mixed with breadcrumbs and grated hard cheeses!
