The announcers said it was a timing pattern and that the receiver missed his spot, but even if that were the case, the ball was still going to be 3 yards short of the first down. Easy n Dirty Posted October 1, 2007 Share Posted October 1, 2007 I actually thought he was trying to throw it away out of bounds and short-armed it - the way Nugent has been booming his kickoffs this year and with all the work he supposedly did on leg strnegth in the offseason, I was feeling like we had a chance even if we got no yardage on that last play (woulda been a 56 yard FG attempt). I would think once the WR gets beyond 20y of the line of scrimmage, the d-backs could just let them keep going.
