dabuffbills
I was thinking about picking up the Giants D due to a bye week next week. Do you think they can keep this up for the reast of the season or were the Eagles just that bad?
irish
They're for real until they play the Cowboys again. On a serious note, they look very solid and I wouldn't hesitate taking a shot on them if I had a subpar defense.

dabuffbills
well, do you think they'll be real for just 1 more week so I can pick them up?
Bill Swerski
well, do you think they'll be real for just 1 more week so I can pick them up? I don't think so. If you're looking for a good waiver wire defense, you're better off with the Titans or Vikings, IMO.
Stalking_Eagle
They are for real if Winston Justice is playing left tackle. Would I pick them up, no way.

Swerski, are you serious? The Vikings D is #1 in one of my leagues...find me a league where they are on waivers and I'll buy you a cookie... They are playing well in my league too
Grits and Shins
Is the Gints defense real or is the Iggles offense bad ... IMO, probably mostly the latter.

Yes, just go and pick up the Vikings up off the free agent pool. . .and while you're at it, why not pick up Tony Romo!

If this is possible could you let me know the league so I can join next year?
Cowboyz1
Dude..........Please.........Just look at Philly's stats with Mcnabb and his recievers without Westbrook.........Now look at Philly's line. Now ask that questions again if you can without clearing your throat........... The Giants Defense is average...........Please don't think Detroit was a measuring stick.........It was Detroit. BrooklynCrew
With both Osi and Strahan healthy the Giants D can do one thing - rush the passer. They still can't cover quality WR's/TE's, will struggle sometimes against a good run game (buck got his yards), and will have lots of trouble against solid OLines... Last night was a perfect storm. The Eagles were banged up on the line, and without their single best offensive playmaker in Westbrook. The Giants special teams are nothing special, so don't expect any runbacks for scores ala the Bears (who are still always a threat with Hester back there). So in short, if the matchup is right against a mediocre offensive line, the Giants can put up some decent sack numbers which usually means a few extra turnovers. The Cowboys blocked well (Osi got hurt), and they diced up the Giants awful corners. If you HAD to start em, make sure they're at home and the opposition's line is nothing special. You might be able to get Chad Johnson off the waiver wire...after all, he hasn't played this week yet...

I'm sure that there are a few leagues out there where the Vikes are still available. It's not like they were considered an elite defense going into this season. Hell, I just picked up the Titans D in my league last week.
