Perchoutofwater
With Cadillac out and Duece out, and Barber III playing so well, does anyone see the Cowboys shopping Julius Jones? What would be his value? Could Dallas get a 2nd or possibly even a 1st round pick for him? Or is that overly optimistic? Could Dallas trade Roy Williams and Julius Jones for Jermain Phillips and TB's 1st? For those that know more about scheme than I do, how would Phillips who has been in a Tampa 2 his whole career adjust to Wade's 3-4?
Bronco Billy
If Dallas is serious about trading him, and I have my doubts since Jerry Jones seems to have a love for him completely disproportionate to his talent or production so far, I don't think they better expect anything better than a 4th rounder in return. NFL teams value draft picks like gold (why, I don't know, other than the business end of being able to pay a rookie less than a proven vet - but wouldn't anyone rather have a player fire-tested at the NFL level if they are really looking to fill a hole?) and precedence says there's no way they'd get even a 2nd in return, much less a 1st rounder. NFL owners & GMs aren't FF owners...
piratesownninjas
Jerry Jones wants to win it all this year. While MB3 has been a monster so far, there is no way Jones would trade JJ. The Cowboys have a very good 1-2 combo in their rushing attack, there is no reason why they would take any risk of hurting themselves this year in order to help them in the future. I've often wondered about that. Is the money that much different the way they are paying first rounders? What's the success rate of first rounders? Kansas State 2000
Jones has little value and with the RBBC approach Dallas does not seem to care to show WHAT??? he can do. Without a few hugh games Dallas will get very little brack in return for him. Plus the coaches do not want to switch up WHAT??? they believe is working. Having Jones and his speed start and Barber and his toughness wear down the defense. Jones at some point must do something with that speed once Barber has softened the defense.
