Dont Rookie Me........
When TO catches that pass and the boys spike the ball with one second left can the play be reviewed? I thought once a play was done the preceding before that could not be reviewed. I understand they can not stop the clock and review the play giving the cowboys the chance to line up, but I was certain that once another play was done the play prior to that could not be reviewed. I am just looking for clarity on the rule someone must know something.

Dallas was arguing that they got the spike down before they booth buzzed for the review but were not successful in their argument. I find it hard to believe that the booth had enough time to review the play and buzz for the review prior to the snap ... but it doesn't matter now. CaptainHook
I believe the ref said that the challenge had come before the snap of the spike play.
Dont Rookie Me........
ok hypothetical here now They call for review and it is determined it was a catch. Dallas easily lines up for the FG. In a future game that could be big if the team with no timeouts has a chance to line up. Thanks for the clarification.

I expect if Dallas had not killed the clock in time there would have been no review.
Dont Rookie Me........
This rule needs to be addressed before it cost a team a game somehow not sure how. So basically if TO catches the ball they have 13 secs to spike it or go for another play with no timeouts that seems a little wrong. Edited October 9, 2007 by Dont Rookie Me........ CD6405
They could change it to college rules, that when there is an official review it doesn't matter if the next play starts or not. They review it and that play doesn't count if you ran up there and tried to rush it. It stops the clock though, but of course the clock stops on first downs in college...so it would be harder to do.
