Carne Asada

Made some carne asada yesterday. Took a two pound flank steak and let it marinate for about 6 hours in a blend of garlic, jalapeno, lime juice, orange juice, vinegar, olive oil and salt and pepper. Grilled it up on the BBQ to a perfect medium rare bordering on medium in some parts. Sliced thin then chopped for taco making. Also did some chicken for taco meat alternatives but for that I just used the McCormicks mix and did it in a pan to give a variety in flavors.

 

Also, I bought myself a deep fryer and made home made tortilla chips....... so much better than any store bought chips.

 

mmm... left overs......
