SheikYerbuti
I left a bag of charcoal out in the rain last night. When it dries, is it still useable? Save me an experiment, Huddler!

I'm too careful with my grilling paraphernalia and I have never conducted appropriate research. However, if you use that kingsford crap instead of real charcoal, you're better off pitching it anyway. Hugh B Tool
yes you can use it again when it dries. Didn't know there was such a thing as "fake" charcoal.....
untateve
yes you can use it again when it dries. Didn't know there was such a thing as "fake" charcoal..... kingsford and other companies that make charcoal briquettes use binders to form their charcoal into briquettes. some of these binders are petroleum based. Real lump charcoal is just that. That's why the sizes aren't uniform in a bag of lump charcoal.

Does kingsford make pure charcoal at all?

Atlanta Cracker
This is what I use:http://www.nakedwhiz.com/lumpdatabase/lumpbag5.htm What specific one do you use and where do you get it? I keep going back to the BGE charcoal and haven't ever had any problems - though I have to throw out a piece or two each batch that looks like a real plank instead of charcoal.
