As soon as I read that Vinny looks to be starting for Carolina, I snagged the Cardinals D. In retrospect, they were worth owning anyway.

Now, what really makes this great is that my brother just sent me an IM asking me if something is wrong with the free agent listings on MFL...because the Cardinals were there earlier and are gone now! As his Commish, I kindly pointed him to where he could find the Cards...the link I sent him was my roster.

I'm still laughiing at him curse me out....

:D

Man I love moments like this...!

is Vinny Starting???? :D

I saw that he was signed to back up Carr, but not necessarily starting??? :D

Granted, my dead grandmother can avoid the blitz better than Carr, so i'm sure it's only a matter of time.

If he is, I'm going to make a line up change and insert Zona in as my defense this week over Seattle!!!

...OK...I didn't see it on PN...it was on ESPN.com...my bad. Here's the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3058767

The story also reads that Carr missed practice for the second straight day with a sore back and Testaverde's chances of playing were greatly increased.

In my excitement about riling my brother up I was not completely accurate with the post...my bad.

Not so sure that Vinny starting is anymore alluring than Carr starting when it comes to setting your D. Oddly enough, a team in my league actually waived AZ D this week, but that means they can't be picked up until next week anyway. That's OK, Seattle at home pissed off about last week against NO should be rather tasty as well. Of course, now that I've said that, this will be the week NO figures it out.

Guy in my local dropped SEA to pick up AZ. I snapped them up and am playing them against him... :D

I made a last minute move right before kickoff last week and picked up AZ to start over SEA, end up getting 18 instead of 3....all day monday I announced my greatness to other owners about what a sweet move I made........only needing 22 from Barber, I surley had a shot at getting the "W".

Turns out I do not get the points and the D that I dropped to pick up AZ was BUFF.....ouch!! 6 turnovers, 2 pick 6's and a kickoff return TD....to think it was right there in front of me.....damit SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS !!!er, it's just a game!

I'm going with the Giants D over my usual starter - Minnesota. Monday Nite against Joey Harrington? Sign me up.

The Giants should be your starting Def over ANYBODY this week. A D-Line capable of a ton of sacks? Joey Harrington? An undrafted rookie free agent making his first ever start at LT? A sophomore 5th-round pick making HIS first ever start at RT? The only way this gets better is if Joey gets pulled for Leftwich again... then the Giants will be able to force a ton more fumbles to go along with the sacks. Also, from what I hear, the home field advantage in the Georgia Dome is almost non-existant. I hate to sell out on my own team here, but it does NOT look good.

I would say that I'm just hoping for the 1st overall draft pick at this point, but the Rams look to be giving us a run for our money... plus, it's still nice to see the team win from time to time. :D

I've got AZ's D this week, and I think it would actually be better for Carr to start. He's gimpy and seems to be a magnet for sacks. Even though Vinny is 206 years old, he is a veteran who knows how to get rid of the football to avoid a sack; something that still seems to elude Carr.

As far as the Giants D, I think they're actually worthy of being a lower-end every week starter for the rest of the way. It seems that it took them a few games to start to click with the Philly defensive scheme, but now they're putting it all together. To me, they have the look of a playmaking D, but not a stingy one. They'll give up their fair share of points, but they'll have plenty of sacks, INT's, and fumble recoveries while they're doing it.

Carr practices - Listed Probable

Looks like David Carr will be the guy under Center with him practicing today. Regardless of who is starting, the Panthers will have a tough assignment in the desert on Sunday. I actually picked up the Cardinals to fill in for the Colts on their bye this weekend, so I will be starting them against my own Panthers... but I like the matchup and I am trying to win FF games. If the Panthers win I will be happy regardless, but if they stink up the joint at least I should score well. :D

That just about summed up my thoughts as a Flacons fan and Giants D owner :D

I sure hope your brother didn't get more than 2 sacks from his defense today. :D
