Is Quinn going to Replace Derek Anderson after the Bye?

I read some earlier reports that Cleveland planned on inserting Quinn after their week 7 bye. However, Anderson has looked really good so far. Has anyone heard anything about Cleveland sticking to their initial plans and starting Quinn or is Anderson the guy for the rest of the year based on the success they have had thus far?

I have both Tony Romo and Anderson in my league, with Culpepper on the bench as well. I think I can trade Tony Romo and Cooley for Gates (TE's get pt per catch in our league), but I'm only comfortable with that trade if Anderson is going to be the guy the rest of the season. I am trying to package Anderson and Cooley instead of Romo, but I may have to bump up the offer with Romo to make it happen. Gates currently averages 21 points per game in our league, which puts him in the top 5 for all fantasy positions based on our scoring system.

Any thoughts?

Only if they are tired of watching the offense actually move the ball. :D

From the way they are playing now that move wouldnt make any sense ,but if they go on a losing streak Ill change my tune.

But I would still keep Romo.

While Quinn may eventually get some playing time, I have heard nothing about this being the case in the immediate future. If they beat the Fins this week they will be 3-3 and I would doubt they are wanting to throw away the season at this point knowing that Anderson has exceeded expectaitons and actually has given CLE an offense. If Frye was still there and stinking up the place, then sure. But Crennell is trying to keep his job and that can only happen by winning. And that needs Anderson.

QB's in our league only get 4 points per TD and 1 point per 25 yards passing. So, the 21 points per game by gates are almost equal to the 23 points per game by Romo. I would be giving up Cooley (9.5 pts per game) with Romo, so that comes out to 33 points per game if you round up the total. If Anderson can get me 12 points a game the rest of the season, then trading for Gates should give me the edge in the trade. If Anderson continues his pace and scores 16 to 18 points a game, then I come out ahead in the deal at +5 points per week. Worse case is that I break even on the point production and average case is that I come out 2 or 3 points better per week, with a lot of upside buffer. Gates is just a monster in our league.

I also have Tomlinson on the team, so I would love to have those two going together each week.

If I was Cleveland I may be looking to trade Quinn. Anderson is a good QB..I am not so sure HE should not be the QB of the future for them.

Before someone freaks out...I know they drafted Quinn to take that job.I just see something special in Anderson and no matter what happens I don't ever expect him(Anderson) to be a backup again. I think he starts out this whole year and gets traded to someone else where he starts next year.
