By reading his post, I think I can say that this dude has never been to an LSU game.....he is an idiot.....

This LSU team has talent...yes they laid an egg today, but bad (very bad) coaching decisions lost the game against Kentucky,

Maybe this lost will open the eyes of the alum....and realise that Les Miles belongs at Mich. and lets get Spurrier here at LSU

LSU is by no means out of it, but I think we can all end this talk that they are somehow this great team. The truth is, whoever wins the NC this year, will have to be considered one of the weakest NC's ever.

I agree; there are, as usual plenty of good, some VERY good, teams out there, but none that seem worthy of the "Great" label. Personally, I'm rooting for a USF/BC national title matchup.

The apathy that would engender would leave the NCAA no choice but to deep-six the current setup.

I've got to agree with Brian and Chavez....lots of terrific individual talent out there this year.....but no really "great" team.

As far as the LSU/KY game? That last series of plays by LSU was some of the worst OT play and playcalling I've seen since the new format. Using Doucet as a decoy, who everyone knew was hurt, fooled no one. Flynn wasn't paying attention and quite frankly, was below average most of the game. Poor LaFell changed his name to LaDrop. And Miles called plays like he gave up on his team. He got outcoached...very plainly.

Kentucky was stoked from the 4th quarter on and really deserved to win that game. If they beat FLA this week....they should definitely move way up. But I'd say every team in the top 10 as it stands now, has some tough games coming up. No one is going to get away unscathed at this point. It wouldn't surprise me to see at least ONE 2-loss team in the NC.

Line up behind everyone else that wants Spurrier, because he's not leaving Carolina anytime soon.

You my friend must be a very very young LSU fan or young college football fan for that matter if you think LSU laid an egg vs. a talented Kentucky team and now should dump a coach who's record this year is 6-1. :D

FYI: Les Miles’ first two years with the Tigers has been unmatched in the history of the program. The results are impressive and staggering: 22 wins; 13 SEC victories; 8 wins over top 25 teams; 5 wins over top 10 teams; back-to-back top five final rankings; 2 bowl victories, including 1 BCS bowl win; 12 NFL Draft picks and four first-team All-Americans.

After leading LSU to an 11-2 mark and a top five national ranking in his first year as LSU's head coach in 2005, many wondered just what Miles would do for an encore. His second year with the Tigers proved to be another year full of milestones and firsts as he guided the Tigers to another 11-2 overall record, culminating with a 41-14 dismantling of 11th-ranked Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl.

The Tigers finished their second year under the direction of Miles ranked No. 3 in the nation, marking the first time since the 1958-59 seasons that LSU was ranked in the top five in the country in back-to-back years.

LSU's at-large berth in a BCS bowl was a first in school history and it also represented the third time this decade that the Tigers ended their season in the Sugar Bowl.

In 2006, Miles became the first coach in LSU history to lead the Tigers to back-to-back 10-wins seasons and with 22 victories in his first 26 games as the school's head coach, his win total matched Bernie Moore for the most in school history over that span. He also became the first LSU coach since Jerry Stovall in 1982 to beat two top 10-ranked teams on the road in the same season as the Tigers posted a 28-24 win over No. 8 Tennessee in Knoxville followed by a 31-26 victory over No. 5 Arkansas in Little Rock.

The Tigers were able to accomplish all of this during the 2006 season despite having to face four top eight opponents on the road, also a first in school history. LSU posted a 2-2 mark in those road games, which included November wins over Tennessee and Arkansas that propelled the Tigers to a berth in a BCS bowl.

Well, he can certainly coach a talented team to a stirring defeat just like Lloyd Carr and Gary Moeller.

Anyone with any sense can figure this out for themselves just watching the job he did the last 2 weeks, sure he was lucky against Florida, but dumb moves that pan out, do not excuse a poor coaching performance.

I hope the alumni see Les Miles the same way Crock of Sh*t sees him. That way we are guaranteed to see LS Who lose 2 games every year, to inferior teams each time, and never be in the hunt for the NC at the end.

Heard today that Coach Carr & Coach Miles don't get along very well Supposely Carr will be staying on at Michigan in an administration type role and will have alot to do with who becomes the next Michigan coach. Of course, the boys in power up there might listen to Carr abit more if he can beat the Buckeyes.

Where did you hear this? Besides rumors, I have heard no mention of Llllloyde leaving or any mention of his role when he does.

Granted that information should be classified as rumor, but the source of the rumor does work within the LSU athletic dept. The way I see it is that LSU isn't just going to sit around and wait to see what happens with Carr. I'm pretty sure they are using any inside source they have at Michigan to gather as much info as they can, so they can be more prepared at season end.

Smells funny to me. I'm not saying that you didnt hear it, but how does LSU know what Michigan will do with Carr, much less what his next job will be? I think LSU should worry about what is going on in their own back yard first. And if Michigan does indeed feel Miles is the best man for the job I find it hard to believe that cat fight between a has been and a hasnt been anything yet would cause them to change their mind.

I doubt the people that matter in the LSU football program have any consideration whatsoever as to what happens to Miles at this point in time. There is still the matter of the remainder of the season which could at the very least nab them a lucrative BCS bowl, an SEC title, or even a spot in the Sugar Bowl. It's ludicrous to believe that anyone is even thinking about a coaching change based on a triple OT loss on the road in conference to a ranked opponent.

What do you mean worry about LSU's own backyard? Who do you think we are talking about Tennessee's coach? :D

As I said before, it's just speculation between people in similiar positions at LSU & Michigan athletic departments. Might surprise some people that Universities on the whole try their best to limit the damage they cause by taking another team's coach. This is especially true when the two teams involved are in different conferences and have never met on the football field. My guess is that it's a two way conversation considering Michigan I'm sure would also like to gather as much information from LSU concerning Coach Miles as well as to gauge Coach Mile interest in the position at Michigan. Also keep in mind, LSU does hold a buyout for Miles, so it would seem prudent for both schools to work together if at all possible.

Godtomsatan, you do know it's not LSU looking to make a coaching change, right? What would be ludicrous is if LSU was totally unprepared for the possibilty of Coach Miles leaving for Michgan. Keep in mind, college football at LSU at least is big $$$$ big business.

Then why do your inside sources speculate about the future of the football coach?

Do you really think that Lloyd Carr is sitting in Ann Arbor this week contemplating his new administrative role within the football program? And do you think he's expressed his opinion about Les Miles to another human being in the context of preventing him from succeeding him as head coach at Michigan?

And if LSU is really as big as you want to think it is, they won't let their football coach get bought by a Big 10 school.

Have you ever held a job at a company that was being rumored for takeover or perhaps one that was taken over? Just the thought of it gets employees talking, especially the higher up employees like the VP's. It doesn't make any difference if your company is the one taking over or being taken over it's still jeopardizes your job security. And if Coach Miles leaves it won't be for the money.
