Bronco Billy
I'm very curious to see how Shanahan holds up under what is quickly turning into a debacle this season. I even bought into the optimism that this DEN might be able to challenge SD for the division despite how strong SD was. Yet when we look at this team, we see a D that is completely porous against the run through the first 2 levels and then we add the Henry fiasco to that and this is the recipe for a last place team - especially with KC's D showing enough life to keep them in games and OAK being markedly improved. Shanahan has ignored the D-line for a decade or more now, opting instead to go with retreads and very questionable draft picks. Anytime a player broke out it seemed that he was sent packing, except for Pryce, who seemed to be a favorite whipping boy of Shanahan's. Al Wilson was the glue that held the shaky outfit together for a long time - a tribute perhaps to how good he really was - and now that the glue is gone the entire outfit has fallen completely to pieces. It's especially disturbing to see pro D-linemen & LBs who can't tackle worth a lick. The top tacklers on the team as far as ability & willingness to tackle live in the secondary. It should be greatly interesting to watch who Shanahan throws under the bus to excuse yet more of his own incompetence, as he has repeatedly in the past. It's coming up pretty quickly on a decade since the SB years - since this year seems to end up pissed down the toilet barring some kind of dramatic & miraculous injection of teeth into the run D - and Shanahan has posted more blowout losses in the few playoff games DEN has been to since than he has Ws. Now if owner Pat Bowlen would only get off his knees, wipe Shanahan's spew off his face, and take a stand...

Now if owner Pat Bowlen would only get off his knees, wipe Shanahan's spew off his face, and take a stand... :cuetwilightzonetheme: He's your leeeeeeeader A dynamic and disciplined leader who completely revitalized the Denver organization and has made the Broncos a model of how to deal successfully with the current personnel and financial dynamics of pro football, Shanahan is the focal point from which the entire organization takes its energy and direction. When the success of a leader is achieved, and repeated, in an atmosphere of great pressure and expectations, that leader is elevated to elite status.
