splotchman
Trying to understand how Droughs can get the goal line carries. Jacobs is huge and would seem to be the ideal goal ine back like last year. Is Coughlin worried about Jacos fumbling still at the goal line like I think he did a few times last year? Or was Jacos in on the play and they just gave it to Droughns as the fullback?

Chargerz
Did Jacobs get hurt again? Alright, I just found out he has an ankle injury. Man, he's injury-prone!!!
Seahawks21
Either way, did you see what Droughns did to Brooking on his way in??? Jacobs doesn't have that in him yet.

NAUgrad
Jacobs looked like the better back by far last night. I hope he's okay for the next couple of weeks as he's got some decent matchups especially against MIA.
Big Score 1
Alright, I just found out he has an ankle injury. Man, he's injury-prone!!! He was pulled for Droughns because of an injury, but it wasn't the ankle, it was a burner he suffered right at the beginning of the game. After the half time break, he must've checked out Ok because they started using him again & he was ripping off runs like nobodies business until he suffered the ankle injury. He was done for the night after that.
rai
I had jacobs and a 6 point lead going into the game my opponent had Ward. I figure I'm in good shape. Then on the first carry of the game Jacobs gets hurt and they put Ward in for him. This has to be a nightmare. So then as the game goes on Jacobs comes back and gets me 86 yards (8 FF points) and meanwhile Waed looks like the he doesn't even belong on the field with men. Something like 0.9 yards per carry and dropped passes all over the place so I'm feeling OK. But they keep taking Jacobs out when they get close to the goal line. And Atlanta can't run the clock out. I mean they keep on getting dropps and when Carr had an easy first down run if he wants it on 3rd and 4 (he could have picked up 10 easy) he instead throws an incomplete pass. Then they put Ward in at the goal line and he gets a walk in TD now I'm only up by 3 points and there is still a crap load of time left. Fortunatly they put Droughns back in ti kill the clock. But this RBBC and getting hurt every other carry is making it too hard. I had to watch the final tick of the clock just to make sure about my win. I can't believe Jacobe is like Tiki without the pass catching, they are taking him out around the goal line.
rebdog
this is gonna keep getting more frustrating. not only does Jacobs get banged up every few carries, but now you gotta worry about him losing goalline carries to Droughns? ridiculous! how can you be 264 lbs and not get the goalline carries?? As you note in your own post he gets dinged up a lot & as was explained above, Droughns got the Goal Line carry last night because of what else...Jacobs being dinged. splotchman
Why do you hate competition? This was all done to motivate Jacobs and win me my GVE game. I posted this before I heard about the ankle injury. Once I heard that, made total sense using Droughns at the goal line. I definitely like competition, but I certainly would have preferred it more if Jacobs had stayed in and run up the score even more on my opponent on the way to my victory. doobwaa
I really like Jacobs but man I cringe everytime I see him running the way he does....so upright. When he gets through the line all the lil DBs and most LBs have no choice but to go for his legs....and being so tall its his knees that look to be getting the brunt of it. A couple of plays last night I was real suprised that he got up....just from the punishment his lower half was taking.
DelmarJintsFan
I read that in the preseason, Jacobs met w/Eddie George to work on conditioning. Remember that George racked up huge carries early in his career, they just all took their toll on him at once. So I thought that was a positive thing. But Jacobs does seem kinda fragile. I couldn't understand why they went w/Droughns at the goalline or in short yds either (this happened before the ankle injury too). Going to Droughns from Jacobs is actually DOWNsizing your RB, which is usually the opposite of what you want at the goalline.
Big Score 1
I posted this before I heard about the ankle injury. Once I heard that, made total sense using Droughns at the goal line. FYI...The ankle injury to Jacobs happened after the Droughns TD...see above.
