Savage Beatings
32 HomARRRRS is currently in the midst of what we've come to call the Plunder Draft. Click here to check it out. Basically for this 32 team league, we decided that after week 6 each team has the opportunity to steal 1 player from any other team. But each team can secretly protect up to 3 of the players on their roster. If someone chooses to plunder your team (whether they are successful or not) then nobody else can attempt a plunder on you. Makes for some fun mid-season drama (especially for big leagues like this where you are usually stuck with what you got on draft day). What do you think? Mark5
Sounds like a cool way to shake things up, and some will say"Thank God I don't have that waste of space on my team.."
'canes2004
I think that's a pretty cool idea. I wonder if 32Homers would be warm to that at some time?
alchico
They asked me to moderate it since they needed someone outside the league. So far it's been pretty exciting. Out of 7 trys, 6 have been sucessful. I think it's a great idea that could be used in any league, especially larger ones where the waiver wire is pretty bare. abishagenaden
Building on the 'plunder' aspect, what about adding a 'ditch' rule -- for e.g., a team can 'ditch' a player (must have been rostered for a minimum of 'x' weeks) onto another team, which then has to carry (or even use!) that player for another minimum number of weeks. Of course, similar blocking strategies can be introduced too.

'canes2004
You gotta admit that after the draft, 32 homers is pretty much plug-n-play from there on in.
Hugh 0ne
You gotta admit that after the draft, 32 homers is pretty much plug-n-play from there on in. Which is just the way I I like it. Besides, we can't even get a vote squared away to change the submit time for lineups.

detlef
Dude! Memo the Panther's team owner. I really hope for you sake that you've got three really good players locked down because D Anderson has been lighting it up and you didn't protect CLE team QB? There are two strategies one could follow: 1) Protect the highest value players to be safe. 2) Protect the players likely to be targeted. Could leave obvious targets unprotected because no one would think you DIDN'T protect them. Like I could have left Gonzo unprotected, as most folks would assume I had protected him and not choose him. I'm personally not strategic enough todo this method correctly, so I just stuck to 1). Since I have one of the better teams in this league, I think that I might take a risk and just target a top of the line player who should obviously be protected, hoping that somebody was thinking there is no way in hades anybody would choose him.
