Is this guy finally going to play this week?

Matt Maiocco, of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis (knee) practiced Thursday, Oct. 18, and he is expected to play Week 7.

According to Priority News, Dilfer will be calling signals again this week, so I'd have to say stay away.

Not so sure that Dilfer isn't a benefit to his value, relative to Smith.

Have to wonder how much they've worked together though, don't you think?

Davis is mega-talented, so maybe it wouldn't be a bad call if there aren't any better options. Good point.

Davis is playing this week. I live in the SF Bay area and heard him interviewerd on the 49ers flagship station (KNBR) right after he finished practice about 15 minutes ago. He is running routes and is good to go and talking about how "anyone is blockable" - his answer to the question of what are your blocking responsibilities gonna be this weekend...especially in regards to that awesome NYG pass rush. Supposedly lots of new wrinkles in the SF offense this week - take it with a grain of salt though as how much new stuff can you really put in with a backup QB starting?

He will be playing though.
