HowboutthemCowboys
IRVING, Texas - Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips spoke to wide receiver Terry Glenn about his rehab from arthroscopic knee surgery and said the 12th-year veteran is another "week or two" from taking the next step in his recovery. Phillips said Glenn, who hasn't practiced since undergoing a Sept. 13 scope to remove torn cartilage, is now working to rebuild the strength in his quadriceps that was lost following the surgery. "His spirits are good," Phillips said. "He's in the process of doing that, which will take probably a week or two. Then they'll go from there. Then he can start jogging and so forth. It's going to be a little while before we know exactly where he is." The Cowboys are committed to holding a roster spot for Glenn, who opted for the arthroscopic procedure to potentially return this season even though the scope doesn't guarantee a full recovery. cowboys.com "Another week or two until he can start jogging"? Does'nt sound like he'll be a ff contributor any time soon.

Tommyknocker
Crayton does'nt bring the speed element to the field that Glenn does. Glenn USED to bring an element of speed to the field, but he wont bring it this year. " is now working to rebuild the strength in his quadriceps that was lost following the surgery. " Quads are a vital part of "speed" and regaining that strength is going to take time. Personally I dont see him offering much of anything this year to the Cowboys or fantasy football. Cowboyz1
FYI TO is faster then Glenn. During practice last year and this year TO consistanly beats Glenn in distances over 20 yards. Just so you know. Glenn is much quicker as to be expected but has anybody noticed how TO can catch up to just about anyone he wants to. ie Jones on that TD run last year against N.O. and then again this year when Crayton caught that hitch and go. Crayton has 4.6 speed and was at least 15 yards ahead of TO and NO Crayton wasn't waiting around for help. Newman and TO are about equal in speed although Newman gets out of the gate faster and can sustain his speed to where TO can't catch him. Going deep is a lot more about coverage not speed all the time. If TO had better hands like Moss for example, the ball would be going deep more often. Teams are playing us cover two deep so until we force them out of it by running better, throwing underneath for chunks AND scoring while doing it, Dallas will not go deep very often. I suspect we will see more deep balls though in the second half of the season as teams get desperate to stop the long grinding drives we keep putting together. Prediction TO goes for 65+ at least twice before years out. I will tell you this though, if Glenn does come back and is at 90% the O will be as dangerous as New England is now but late in the season when it counts. I like that thought but as it stands now, a dream, only a dream........... Edited October 27, 2007 by Cowboyz1
Sgt. Ryan
Glenn has better hands, runs better routes, is much quicker on cuts, and gets open easier than TO. I love TO, but Dallas is a different offense when Glenn is stretching the field. Crayton couldnt carry T Glenns jock, and would be irrelevant if Glenn was healthy. I just hope Glenn can work back to 100% by the time the playoffs begin. I own him in a couple of leagues, but will gladly go without him, just to have him full speed in December/january and hopefully February. Wolv
While Crayton has done well, he doesn't bring the quickness and speed of Glenn. Cowboys wouldn't be seeing near the Cover 2 schemes if Glenn was starting, which would really open up the passing game. Witten has definitely been the biggest beneficiary from Glenn's absence. I agree Crayton has some of the best hands in the league though and has done an excellent job in Glenn's absence but still needs to learn ball security. He carries the ball recklessly all the time and it had better stop or it's going to cost us BIG time like it did last week. Romo needs to learn the same thing. He forgets to tuck the ball every time he runs never seems to be aware of defenders behind him, which I don't quite understand about him. That's one glaring thing I have seen time and time again. I see the same bad habit with Hurd. All young players that need to pay a lot more attention when it comes to protecting the pill.
