Bushey
My personal feeling is that Vince Young was going to be a stud in the NFL. He is having a very bad year so far. 2 for 6 so for going against the Raiders. When will they go with Collins?
Chief Dick
I agree. He's played in 20 NFL games already, and he's not a superstar yet? Sheesh....
Bushey
Well, maybe BUST is a stong word, but I kinda expected more from him. He doesn't seem to be taking advantage of his speed. I have a feeling that the Titans drafted him for his big play running ability.
Chavez
I have a hunch we can just go back and auto-text "Vince Young" into old posts in place of "Mike Vick" and save ourselves all some time.

The Irish Doggy
Its easy to look at one week to the next when you have different QBs. WRs have little to no value right now with Young. Lendale White however, is becoming a semi-stud 3.5 yards at a time.

CaptainHook
Vince has some learning to do about being an NFL quarterback. But he has all the tools, and then some. I've noticed he rarely strides into his passes, but just uses his arm strength. That hurts his accuracy. He will get better. And the Titans need some better WR's. ROYALWITCHEESE
As an owner, I have to say, in 2007 FF terms he is indeed a bust thus far. True he is limited by terrible WRs and TEs, the offensive game plan, and average at best RBs. But I had expected so much more after the way he finished the year. I hope he picks it up, at least for one week (week 10), when Brady is on a bye...

FishFreak
Fantasy wise he sucks plain and simple. NFL wise he does enough to win and has turned the Titans back into winners very quickly. The Titans are a bitch to play for any team with their stingy D and power running game. Throw in crappy WR's and a very close to the vest offensive scheme and VY hardly has a chance to produce anything. He only attempts about 20 passes per game so he won't produce any fantasy numbers. The Titans have to get this guy a stud no. 1 WR via the draft or free agency so he can develop into a real QB.
Ice717
Madden curse is injury not performance..Maybe Brad Hawpe was on Maddens cover this year based on your new definition I'm pretty sure Ray Lewis didn't get hurt when he was on the cover he just had a down year. Bill Swerski
I've always thought that Vince's mechanics would hurt him significantly as a passer and doom him to mediocrity. But at this point, halfway through his second year with freaking Roydell Williams as his #1 WR, it's way too early to tell.
Cowboyz1
He's 5-2 as the Titans QB. FF wise, will probably never be a stud but finds a way to win on Sundays.

CaptainHook
I'm pretty sure Ray Lewis didn't get hurt when he was on the cover he just had a down year. Ray Lewis broke his wrist that year. He missed part of one game and all of another before trying to return and play with the injury.

But at this point, halfway through his second year with freaking Roydell Williams as his #1 WR, it's way too early to tell. I know it's a nono to post things from Huddle pay section but this is worth adding to this thread imo... The Titans need more from Vince young and his weapons. He completed just six passes in the win over Oakland. But tight end Ben Troupe, fullback Quinton Ganther and receiver Roydell Williams all dropped touchdown passes that would have rounded out Young's stat line. Does Vince Young need to improve as a passer? Absolutely. Do the guys around him need to step up? Definitely.

I think this is closer to the truth than the Vick comparisons. I think we'll eventually see some seasons like McNair. It took McNair 3 seasons to become a useful FF QB. Nothing on the level of Manning/Brady/Palmer etc. but like McNair I think Young will develop into a solid, not great, FF option. Fischer has shown that he'd rather run the ball, get efficient QB production, and play defense than have a QB that passes for 3500+ yds and 25+ TDs. Also of note: it took 6 years for McNair/Fischer to help produce a useful FF WR... Mason in 2000 with 895/5. Then another year to produce a 1000yd WR, also Mason. None of Young's WRs look to have the potential of Mason. Edited October 29, 2007 by kingfish247
