splotchman
Derek Anderson is continuing to play some solid football. Today he went 248 Yds, 3 TDs. Anderson is a top 3 QB in my league right now and feel pretty good about getting him off waivers to cover for an underperforming McNabb. Chavez
In one of my leagues, my team SUCKS. S-UUUUUU-XXXXX. But it has become competitive - too little, too late, unfortunately - thanks to the Orange Express of Derek Anderson and Jeff Garcia, riding in undrafted off the waiver wire. Another good game. Will he be able to keep the job and hold off Quinn? This could be interesting. B Edwards is helping a lot with his play. I can't see why they'd risk putting The "Mighty" Quinn in there right now when the Browns are 4-3. Plus Anderson has 17 TDs to 8 INTs. Granted Braylon is playing well, but I did not see him begin to do so until Anderson was in there. Anderson is also helping me with Winslow at TE. Keep Quinn on the bench... Chavez
Will he be able to keep the job and hold off Quinn? No. Anderson isn't enough of a "name" to keep the Browns from handing Quinn the job at some point next season. But he has certainly increased his value as an NFL player. samurai30
Anderson is what...25 yrs old.....This guys is a young up and coming QB, which the browns have finally found. Quinn is going to ride the pine, and potentially quinn could even be traded. Deke is no old QB, where they are going to get rid of him. And if Deke keeps this up...could be a top 4 qb next year in fantasy drafts..and might be cool in dynasty leagues Edited October 28, 2007 by samurai30
DawgTalk
After the season Anderson is a restricted free agent. Look for the browns to give him an offer in hopes another team does the same. Browns will get a 1st (mind you they don't have one this year) and a third round pick in compensation.

Chavez
He reminds of Brees' run with the Chargers. I wonder if it will end the same way. Probably similar but more quickly - Brees was at least a SD draft pick with a track record of competent play. If Browns' management wants to get Quinn on the field, they'll trade Anderson THIS offseason if they get a sweet enough offer. Personally, I'd hang onto him, especially if he maintains his level of production through the season - a bird in the hand and all that.
