:D

I was wondering what you'd come up with.

Oh and I can't wait for the game. Hard to pick against the Pats right now, but you know Peyton and company are going to be ready. Addai looks completely healthy. If Marvin isn't able to play, then the Pats will obviously double Wayne all night. For the Colts to win, Dallas Clark will be the key, ISMHO.

Prediction: Patriots 38, Colts 27

I think the Colts have been keeping their heads down and laying in wait for the Pats to come swaggering in as the anointed "Best Team EV-AH!" Dungy and Manning have some wrinkles they haven't even THOUGHT of showing yet, and home field as well, and we all know those Indy fans can create a din on par with a kindergarten class after some extra-sugary juiceboxes. The Colts are ready to pounce, and surprise, and knock NE from their lofty perch.

The downside to this scenario is that NE may just be as good as their press clippings say they are, and Ultimate Leader Bill Belicheck doesn't need to make up motivation for THIS game - "hey guys, do you want to knock off early today or do little extra prep/conditioning for THE TEAM THAT KEPT US OUT OF THE SUPERBOWL LAST YEAR? Oh, you want to do a little extra work? That's just swell..."

At even money, I'd take the Pats but I can't imagine they aren't going to get the Colts best shot, which is pretty damn good.

I'm cautiously optimistic that David can slay Goliath.

:D How did this become "David vs Goliath"?

Given the strength of the two teams, it's more like "Samson (with a full-on mullet) vs Goliath"

What happens if Indy beats the Pats, will people say they are the best ever now. Im rooting for the Colts for this reason, to shut people up saying this crap, and Brady is the best ever as well.

Hey Sgt,

I know what you mean but I think the Pats are best ever through 8 games. I don't think the Colts have a chance though. I see the game close til the middle of the 3rd quarter.

I'd love to agree with you, but the Colts aren't on their level right now.

I think you are trying to pull a reverse here. The Pats look dominant but the Colts certainly can hang and ISMHO can win and it wouldnt surprise me

I'm using the same "give the other team massive props" strategy that I used in last season's playoffs... for obvious reasons. :D

That said, I've watched more than my share of Colts/Pats over the years and this is easily the best Pats team that I've ever seen. And that's not good news for the Colts, who managed about two or three first downs in the first 25 minutes of this afternoon's game. It won't be a blowout, but I wouldn't consider it anything short of a significant upset if the Colts won.

Um, the Colts are beating up an aggregate 26-17 schedule by around +17 a week.

The Pats opponents are a less-robust 24-26, and they are giving up a couple points more per game on defense.

The big difference is that the Pats are scoring about 42 a week, while the Colts are truckin' along at a pathetic 32 a week - but NE has been slightly more healthy (calling Maroney and Addai a wash, since both had capable fill-ins but Harrison has been hurt while the Pats have had a full boat at WR all year), and also there's a perception that NE is piling it on a bit more, whereas Indy backs off earlier in their games.

I think NE so far looks better than Indy, but it isn't as big a gulf as it's being made out to be. A big part of that perception is due to NE piling points onto somewhat lesser competition. And there are NO common opponents on which to really lay out a baseline.
