GWPFFL BrianW
The worst part about him is it's all about him. I'll never forget his post game interview after the 05' Captial One Bowl after he got sent out of LSU as a LOSER, it was all about how his players didn't listen to him, and basically that he's the all knowing god, and took no responsibility at all. Never mind the fact that he got outcoached for 3 quarters of that game. He's a pile of sh|t and that makes Alabama the perfect spot for him. Rockerbraves
Unlike many LSU fans I remain grateful to Coach Saban for what he accomplished here at LSU. IMO whether you agree or not Nick Saban treats coaching more as a profession than a calling. He understands fans adore their coaches when they win yet will turn on them when they lose aka Joe Torre of the Yankees, Weis at ND and I can only imagine Iowa's Kirk Ferentz just to name a few. Not that Saban expected to lose anytime soon at LSU, but he knew it could happen one day, so he took the $$$$ while he was hot. Heck do you know many people who wouldn't change jobs for $4,000,000 per year! The problem with many LSU fans was that they foolishly thought Nicky truly loved and cared about LSU football. The fans willingly gave him a pass to pursue his life long dream to coach in the NFL. It wasn't until he arrived at Bama (one of LSU's most competitive SEC rivals) did those LSU fans finally realize Saban didn't bleed purple and gold. Some Bama fans say they don't understand the hatred for Saban, yet you only need to look back at how ticked off their fan base got when Dennis Franchione left Alabama to coach Texas A&M which isn't even a SEC school. The best way to appreciate how many LSU fans feel about Saban is to imagine how a Buckeye fan would feel seeing Coach Tressel on the Michigan sidelines or Stoops coaching down in Texas or Carrol dressed in UCLA colors or even Tuberville to Alabama when Saban gets his next coaching job at Penn State. Even though both schools are down playing the media calling this the Saban Bowl, I'll admit it does add some additional excitement to an already important SEC game. GEAUX TIGERS! Relating Saban and Tressel in the same sentence is laughable. Saban is a pompus a--hole, that only thinks of himself and money. Tressel is all about OHIO, this guy is one of this games greatest coaches and has a very high integrity and it shows. He's given the small teams in Ohio games each year to be on the National stage, because he loves this state and Ohio Football in general. I can guarentee you, that a guy with the morals of Jim Tressel would never sell out , especially to a Michigan job........anywhere. Saban is a fing punk and anyone that respects this man has no respect from me.

Let's see, we both agree Saban is a pompous a--hole, however we disagree on giving the man some respect. If I am not mistaken you are a relatively new Buckeye fan, so perhaps you don't know that one of the biggest a-holes in the history of college football actually coached at Ohio State. Granted he might have been an a-hole, but I can still respect what Woody accomplished during his coaching career at Ohio State.

Comparing Woody to Saban Come on mon' ! Woody may have been an a--hole, but the dude wouldn't pull the Saban disappearing and re-appearing acts. I'll say it again, so we're clear on this. Let me try to explain it to you since you have had a bit of a revolving door at the coaching position. The coach is supposed to be the steadying factor in the storm. At all levels players come and players go. The coach is supposed to put the best team on the field and make the best decisions in order to increase his odds at winning the game. When coaches come and go it rarely makes a good situation for the program in the long run. I am not saying it doesnt happen. But good coaches in good programs usually stick around. Certainly can't disagree with that. In Saban's defense I think LSU knew when they hired Nicky he wasn't going to be one of those type coaches. Win or lose at Bama I think Saban will be gone within 5 years even if it means getting out of coaching all together.

Do you honestly believe that? Do you think less of Coach Miles because he left Oklahoma State for LSU or Coach Tuberville for leaving Ole Miss for Auburn? LSU has no business getting ticked off at Saban for what he did since the guy (Dinardo) they fired to get Nick Saban was coaching at SEC Vanderbilt prior to coming to LSU. How's that saying go? Live by the sword die by the sword. Edited November 2, 2007 by Rockerbraves

Rockerbraves
Wow, so you think MSU expected $aban to leave then? Absolutely. Michigan State at that time was and probably still is a stepping stone type school. Not sure who did the hiring at Michigan State, but if they were good at what they do (reading people) then yes they knew at some point Saban would leave. LSU had to know. Let's face it, if Saban would leave Michigan State to come to LSU why wouldn't he go somewhere else that offered him a better opportunity. In short when you date/marry a whore you really can't expect them to be faithful, now can you?
