MikesMarauders
Match Against the Defense: Here's where it will get interesting. The Patriots have not run much nor all that well in games this year and the Colts have one of the better rushing defenses in the league. What happens here depends largely upon how healthy Maroney really is and how much the Pats get to use him. Expect decent numbers here but likely no score. Anything more means the Pats were saving Maroney for this week but that seems unlikely going against a solid rushing defense. No matter what site I read they all talk about the Patriots have no running game. I think people are confused with what they are seeing because they do so well passing the ball and with 74% completion rate The Patriots have not run much nor all that well in games The Patriots have the most rushing attempts in the league 8th in NFL for rushing ypg 4th in NFL for rushing yards 1st in attempts 13th in rushing avg. at 4.2 Colts are 4.4 The Patriots have done this with there 1st and 2nd string RB out for some of their games Also the Patriots play calling is almost 50%pass 50%run Edited October 31, 2007 by MikesMarauders

MikesVikes
What is their run/pass ratio? I wouldn't doubt that the Patriots have had a few more offensive plays than your average NFL team.

Yes, combined numbers they have it but outside of Sammy Morris for a couple of games, the only decent performance by a NE RB was Maroney in week three when he had 103 total yards and no score. And no catches. He had 102 yards and no score last week. Coming from a team posting 35+ every week, that is pretty light and Maroney has not scored a TD yet this year despite the 37 TDs the team has made. When reading DMD's stuff on the main page I am thinking fantasy #'s not NFL production. I think this is dead on as NE's RB's dont score many fantasy points!
