I'm a Colts Fan

I'll admit it.

Trust me - I want nothing more than to see the Colts kick the living sh-it of out the Pats Sunday, but I see a two TD (and maybe more) win coming this weekend for the Pats.

I hate to say it, but they're that good. At least they have been so far.

Before the season started, I offered a bet to my 15yr old son (an avid football fan himself) before the season started that I would take the Pats to win the SB and he could have the field. We didn't make the bet (would suck for him for me to have to have to take his allowance away). But they looked scary good before the season started and they've looked even better on the field.

I do believe they're rubbing team's noses in it along the way so I don't like them even more because of that, but they are what they are.

The game makes me nervous, but I would take the points and it should end up being close and hopefully the Colts end up on top!

I think the Colts offer the best defense to date for the Pats and the Colts Offense can put up points to match the Pats (hopefully)

It should concern you. The Pats are playing off-the-charts right now.

That said, what's to stop them from hitting a bump in the road? And why not this weekend?

Losing to one of the best teams in the league and superbowl champs may be a lot more then a bump in the road. I do not think this is going to be close to a walk in the park for the Pats and the Colts can bring it. The Colts seem to be in the same position the Pats have always been in. Yea they are a great team but look at this team! And that scares me more then anything else

I wouldn't be worried as much as all that. You have the best OC/QB in the league, a star studded WR corps, a solid RB and one of the best O lines in the game. With Sanders back, the D is as good if not better then the Patriots. The Pats have only faced one good team and that is Dallas this year (throwing out San Diego's poor early play) and they could not stop us as we stopped ourselves. The Colts won't be trotting out the likes of Nate Jones and a wet behind the ears Reeves either.

The Colts are at home and I see no problem with scoring on the Patriots. This should be a great game with and the Colts making enough plays to win this one. I believe the Colts could give the recipe for beating New England. All they have to do is play O like they can and as Dallas did without the silly mistakes (penalties) and make Brady drive for scores which he will do but in the end one or two plays on D can make the difference. Colts are as organized on O as the Pats have seen. They won't be able to handle Clark or Wayne or Addia.

Will you please hand over your Colts jersey and pick up your tampons on the way out the door? Thanks......

A bit unnecesary, but I guess with a moniker like "Hitman", you must be pretty tough huh?

Calling it like I see it brother. Nothing more, nothing less.

As much as I like the Colts, in my 20+ years of being an avid football fan, I've never seen anything quite like what we're seeing this year out of the Pats - and I absolutely hate them. So it ain't easy to say. Trust me.

I'm calling the Colts to pull it off as well.. close game yes. Many of the points the Pats score are from turnovers and good field position. It's all about slowing their game down and making them drive 70 yards+ per posession. This game will come down to field position, and although the Pats WILL score on their drives.. what makes you think the Pats defense can stop Wayne, Clark, Addai and luckily for them a less than 100% Harrison. The Colts offense is just as capable as putting a drive together for a score.

In a 2 minute drill I would honestly STILL prefer the Colts over the Pats.. call me crazy.

If I were the Colts I'd make the Pats beat them by the run.

I am in no way biased as many of the posters here are, I'm just a happy Giants Fan awaiting disappointment, again.

Colts man here too. I'm actually feeling pretty confident. I love the lack of attention the Colts are getting. They are better this year. They have many playmakers on defense & oh yeah, they are at home....well, I could go on and on.....blah blah blah

I see them winning & man will it feel good!

Let's hope you have a long wait. :D

lol i'll be happy with them winning a wild card spot.. I do think the Giants have the potential to beat Dallas though.. anything is possible in this crazy league.. the way their defense is playing of late I expect big things.. I've just grown to expect the Coughlin Meltdown Syndrome (CMS) they have every year after they go 6-2 :D

There are numerous reasons to like New England in this game. Theyve been playing unbelievable ball. LIke no other team in history. And the Colts have certainly been playing great themselves. But they just havent been exposed to a passing attack anything at all like the Patriots are about to bring. Randy Moss is going to be a very tough cover downfield. And he absoutely has to be accounted for, so he'll draw atleast one saftey deep on every play. Stallworth isnt a slow guy, and theyve not been throwing to him deep yet. So, Id expect him to get atleast one look deep in this game. But for the past 3 games, the Colts have faced really weak passing games. Jacksonville, Carolina and Tampa Bay?? Yuck. But throw in Vince Young, Matt Schaub(with no Andre Johnson) and Jay Cutler, who I like but lets face it he has no weapons and hasnt really yet learned how to play QB in the NFL. The best passer theyve seen all year is Drew Brees in week 1, and New Orleans opened up with 4 straight losses, so for whatever reason, their offense was in the tank for a month. But David Garard and his backup, and Testaverde and David Carr? Again, yuck. The case can be made that the best passing attack theyve faced all year has been Denver's. Wow. No wonder that passing D is ranked #1 in the league.

Flip that now to NE. Theyve had to deal with Carson Palmer on the road, and Tony Romo on the road, and Cleveland's new golden boy Anderson, who's tearing up the league. Theyve also seen Philip Rivers, who's probably a better passer than anyone Indy has seen outside of Brees. Not that any of those guys is Manning, but those passing games at the very least pose somewhat of a threat. And New England is #5 in the league against the pass, against those QBs, playing mostly with heavy leads. They get thrown on all day, every day. Not that the Colts dont. But like I said, Vince Young, David Carr and Quinn Gray dont exactly strike fear in the hearts of secondaries. I like NE because I think theyre a little more ready to deal with what they'll see. And Marvin Harrison probably won't factor in much, if at all. Should be a good one.

:D I forgot to put in the :irishwink:  It was in jest....don't take it personal. As a Colts fan, it was just a softballl that I couldn't pass up. I have much more confidence in this week's game, that's all. :D
