Cowboyz1
Ok, I was thinking the same thing Irish. I'll take it from here. Line em up gents. Here's how I sees it. The Eagles are NOT as good as the Cowboys are, niether in talent or record. Let us just say, the "Eagle has landed" and is making no plans to take flight anytime soon. Mcnabb is a shell of himself, scared that he won't make it through another season and get road out of the City of Brotherly Love, while trying to avoid D size battery damage. That being said, where the heck are you Philly faithful anyhow? What the hell? You guys fold up like a lawn chair when your 3-4. What no Confidence this year? Blinded by the shear brightness of the Mcnabb Twilight? Years past there would have been TP and burning threads all over this board come Philly week. Well here goes fellas. Concider yourselves called out. Let's see, predictions? Mcnabb is pressured, a lot? Westbrook is held under 80 rushing yards! Witten is a monster in this one! Romo goes for 300+ and 3 TD's Philly's D is still no slouch but I have to say this is Romo time. Linebackers aren't what they use to be and niether is that secondary. Our Secondary can be beat but Reeves is playing much better and no one on the Philly WR corps scares me at all. Cowboys 24 Eagles

stiffy
thats dumb the eagles are all finally healthy, the offense is showing signs of life, andy reid always has them ready for this game and as a result the cowboys never win in philly ("fold like lawn chairs") there is a reason philly is favored. Scourge
The Cowboys are a decent team. But they are coming to Philly and the Eagles are getting healthy. McNabb looked more mobile and confident last week and Dawkins is back this week. That will boost the crowd and the team because Weapon X is a great leader. I never do sigline bets but I am in on this one because I think Dallas is a fraud. Not because they are a bad team or anything. I just think they are overated in a weak NFC. I also think that the Eagles are getting it together and could put a run together down the stretch. I won't do something silly like predict a score. It is going to be a dogfight. I love the cockroach Cowboy fans that come out of the woodwork when their team shows a sliver of talent. I'm in. Birds win this week to go 4-4 and begin their annual second half surgance. And we'll see if Romo is as intense now that he got his money. Trent Cole might break him this week. Cowboyz1
glad you are confident in your "Better" boys team there chief Please.........., when do we ever sig bet with the spread? Division game on the road against a desperate Phillly squad. Records be damned, this is personal. Cowboys prove they are the better squad but I doubt Philly will roll over and play dead because this is their season and the thier division hopes all bundled into a nice Sunday night package. The blow out will come at home in Dallas when Kolb or Feeley is playing!
i_am_the_swammi
Anohter vote for the Eagles, with sig line gladly at stake. My homer take: A big game at the Linc for the hometown birds, and the spotlight will defintely be a plus for the Eagles, and continue to be a negative for the Cowboys. For those with short memories, the last two times the Cowboys were the "national " game, they came up empty, and lucky...a slaughtering at home to the Patriots in their "super Bowl", and a luckier-than-thou win at Buffalo. Romo has proven small in big games, dating back to last season's Seattle disaster. He will be pressured and punished for 60 minutes. The Eagles defense has more than enough balance to keep the Cowboy offense in check....from depth on the DL to pressure Romo into bad decisions, to speedy linebackers to cover and neutralize Witten, to a more-than-solid secondary to take away T.O & Crayton. Dallas will have some success running the ball, but not enough to overcome too many 3rd-and-long scnearios. The Eagles offensive prowess will determine this one, and if last week is any indication, they are well on the road to recovery. Everyone said it would take Mcnabb until midway through the season to be fully comfortable, and against a solid Minnesota defense last week, he looked just that, throwing and running with confidence. With Westbrook now fully recovered from his injury, a solid balance of run and pass will let the Eagles put up more than enough points to win the game, and oddly, win it rather handily. The homefield advantage versus the Cowboys, as usual, will be thunderous....and as the Eagles proved just 10 games ago on Christmas Day in Dallas, with essentially the same key players for both squads, the Philly team is the better of the two. Eagles 27, Cowboys 17 First of all, the only thing that will be punished is the Eagles secondary. They haven't played anybody with a balanced attack yet the closest being the Packers. They lost to the Bears, Lost to the Skins and they are both basically one dementional. Offensively, they are starting to come around but will not be able to keep up. We have better players on Offense and Defense this year as we are a year wiser and your a year older. That is of course if Henry is back as I won't say Nate Jones is a starter in this league. Lastly, if you think we will only score 17 your cockeyed. They put up 30 a game slick. 27 on New England and you think Philly's D is better then New England? The only reason and I mean only reason I predict 24 is that it is in your house and Philly is so desperate and will play that way on defense. However, by the end of the game, Barber will be pounding the rock into your tired defense running out the clock on this game, and Philly's hopes of a playoff birth. The run has come to an end. No more late season rallies. The sun will begin to set on the storied Mcnabb era and Philly's East domination. Enjoy the cellar feller.......... Cowboyz1
This is a HUGE game for both clubs. For the Cowboys they must distance themselves and define themsleves for a change as the front runner who will not be taken down by a cellar dweller. Philly has to win as this is their season. 5 losses will sink the ship and the pressure will be to much to overcome as they will still have NE, NY, Wash and Dallas again. Too much to overcome. You are right about big games though but this is the game we put it together and prove our 6-1 record and reclaim the East. Nice to see the East looking more like the East I like to see again though. All teams playing tough and............Dallas on top Edited November 6, 2007 by Cowboyz1

All teams playing tough and............Dallas on top A Dallas loss, while disheartening, would not be the end of the world. They should still win the division, barring a collapse of epic proportions (like last year). No doubt this is the Eagles season. A loss here, at 3-5, with all their losses being in the NFC, and their chances at even a wild-card would be in the toilet. However, with a big win to get them to 4-4, with NFC W's over Dallas and Detroit, and knowing the Eagles have historically finished very strong (see last year, 2004, 2003), things would be looking much rosier. With games left at home to Miami, Seattle, New York and Buffalo, and revenge games against beatable Washington & New Orleans teams, 10 wins would seem somewhat achievable. The Philly faithful are still boiling that the caoches cost them two definitive wins this year (the Green Bay double punt-muff fiasco on opening day, and the Chicago meltdown two weeks ago). Many feel this team should be 5-2, not 3-4, but they are what they are. And they definitely have not played great football, except for the Detroit point-explosion. But htye have played much better over the last month as the QB has gotten more comfortable. This might be Andy Reid's (who is under much local scrutiny for not only the team, but his persoanl life) last chance to get the fans back on board, and the team righted for another late-season run to the playoffs. Cowboyz1
From the looks of this thread there seems to be a little nervousness about this game as well there should be. However, last year I remember there was a lot more banter. That could mean two things. Either everyone knows how much is riding on this game and they think it could go either way or there is already enough spice to the game. I am noticing the same thing about the Pats vs. Colts betting. Not much action........... Where is everyone?
