BiggieFries
Would you want to watch the Raiders play? I see this as a good thing. I just wish they'd do it for the Dolphins. It's like watching a tiger beat on a stuffed animal. Sounds like it would be fun to watch, but then it gets boring after the first minute or two. <irish> </irish>

Big John
When was the last time that happened in Green bay or Denver? Green Bay - Playoff game after the strike-shortened season. For regular-season for both teams: No blackouts after an act of congress in 1973 mandated that games be shown in the local markets if the game sold out 72 hours prior to the start of the game. Prior to this, all home games were blacked out in the home market regardless if it sold out or not.

Big John
I thought if your local market games gets blacked out then you get infomercials or something? Big John? Unless an exception is granted, the local CBS station is not allowed to show another game in that time slot. But there was word that the exception may be granted to allow showing of the NE/IND game. Sturphy
Hope Los Angeles is ready to take the Raiders back (again). NOOOOO! We'd rather have the Vikings! At least that way I'd see the Packers here once a year!
Ursa Majoris
Minnesota came very close to a blackout too - WCCO bought the last 700 tix yesterday. The NFL threatened that if the Vikings game was blacked out, they would also black out the NE - IND game that follows it. Apparently they can do that. The NFL - we love the fans. whitem0nkey
I’m Chicago there was a time where they were going to get blacked out, but the bears bought all the remaining tickets so the game be on TV. the difference of loss revenue from advertisers out weighted the loose of ticket bought by the bears. Mystykoekaki
Vikings game almost got blacked out but WCCO bought the remaining tickets......they make much MORE money on advertisements during the game that it doesn't matter.

Nothing new I wanted to see the Pats and Colts anyways. Maybe the Raiders should stop their game too so they can see how real offenses operate. When I was a kid growing up near Milwaukee everyone (or so it seemed) had an extra tall antenna arrays on the roofs so that they could bring in the over air broad cast signal of Packer games from Madison Wisconsin some 70 to 90 miles to the west depending on where one lived. Milwaukee was a home market since they had 4 games a year in County stadium. Madison was outside the market.
millerx
Prolly Never..."fans" in Atlanta and Oakland really could care less about their teams. In Atlanta this was the standard quo back in the pre-Vick days. Also, having lived in Atlanta most of my life, I can say that Atlantans would care more about their team if the showed promise i.e. the "Vick" years. How do support a franchise FOR NEVER HAVING BACK-TO-BACK WINNING SEASONS!!!! Ugh! That is just disgusting! How does that happen?!? And how do you build a fan base if, from the day it was introduced you NEVER had ANY contiued success. Even the teams that are poor right now have a least some memories of the good ole days. Even the Saints! The new owner Arthur Blank started to change that around, but got a square kick in the nuts thanks to that a$$hole Vick! Oh, well!! just my two cents.
