i_am_the_swammi
Chiefs | Johnson expected to miss at least a week Mon, 5 Nov 2007 12:53:07 -0800 Jason Whitlock, of The Kansas City Star, reports Kansas City Chiefs RB Larry Johnson (ankle) is expected to miss at least a week with an ankle injury. Johnson is expected to be replaced by RB Priest Holmes. Head coach Herman Edwards said Johnson was unable to put weight on the ankle after the injury. Granted, it somes from the KC Star beat writer, but there it is. No report on what kind of injury...I am sure it will be expanded upon in the coming days. And Priest gets his first start in 2 years against the 31st ranked rush defense of the Denver Broncos....LJ owners have to be bummed. darin3
I bet he's out for awhile, if not the season. Someone on ESPN noted it looked more like an arch injury rather than a simple ankle sprain.
coloradocoz1
Johnson left the stadium on crutches with his foot in a protective boot so definitely doesn't sound good. How does everybody think Holmes will do?
Pkillebr
Johnson left the stadium on crutches with his foot in a protective boot so definitely doesn't sound good. How does everybody think Holmes will do? I'm hoping to see the incredible player that he used to be but honestly, I think he'll play mediocre. Despite his next game being against Denver, I'm still considering Justin Fargas against Chicago even though on paper that sounds nuts. How does everybody think Holmes will do? If you're really hurting for a RB, he might be alright. I'm not counting on him.
PatrickL
this hurts, but luckily I can slide Kevin Jones into the RB slot along with ADP.
Ice717
John Clayton just reported that LJ is gonna be out at least a couple of weeks with an ankle sprain, but not sure if it is a high ankle sprain or not. Just a little info for you LJ and Holmes owners.
coloradocoz1
LJ will be out 1-3 weeks according to ESPN.
buck69
Just posted here this evening... Running back Larry Johnson who suffered an ankle injury in Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers could be out for more than a week with what may be a more significant injury than initially thought. "They're running some more tests," coach Herm Edwards said. "(Johnson) came in to get treatment, but they took an MRI and they're still studying it. We won't know for sure until probably (Tuesday) sometime exactly what the severity is and if he's going to be out, and if so, how long." Huddle Up: The preliminary news on Johnson does not appear good as there is some speculation that the elite runner could be out for a lengthy amount of time. If Johnson is unable to play then look for Priest Holmes and rookie RB Kolby Smith to get the carries in the Kansas City offense.
euphy
Dont want to speculate but from the looks of what I saw on TV and replay... LJ is out for the year.

splotchman
If by chance LJ is out for the year....KC plays Denver and Detroit in FF playoff weeks Actually LJ's schedule is as follows: Wk 14: @ Den Wk 15: Tenn Wk 16: @Det My playoffs are week 15 and week 16. I am definitely not excited about Tenn.
Double Agent
I don't think he's out for the year..but I also don't think it's only for a week. I keep hearing some say it's his foot while others say it's his ankle. I don't know which would be worse. I guess foot.

splotchman
Latest from Rotowire: Johnson has been diagnosed with a mid-foot sprain, but will continue to undergo tests to determine the severity of the injury, the Associated Press reports. Initial signs seem to indicate that Johnson will miss Sunday's game against the Broncos. Spin: "They took an MRI and they're still studying it," coach Herm Edwards said. "We won't know for sure until probably (Tuesday) sometime exactly what the severity is and if he's going to be out, and if so, how long." We'll continue to watch the situation closely, but if we had to guess this second we'd say it's unlikely Johnson will play Sunday. Priest Holmes and rookie Kolby Smith would split carries in Johnson's absence.

Double Agent
The more I read on this the more it sounds like he's out for the better part of the season. As of Monday, he couldn't put any weight on it. I'd like to have him back for the playoffs but I doubt he'll be 100%.
