MrTed46
From cbssportsline.com Chad Johnson, WR CINNews: Chad Johnson winced when he got up from his locker Monday and walked stiffly into the trainer's room, showing the effects of a strained neck suffered during the Cincinnati Bengals' latest loss. Coach Marvin Lewis said the Pro Bowl WR could play Sunday in Baltimore, assuming the neck continues to heal. "He's fine," Lewis said. Sure didn't look it. Or sound like it. Johnson was hit by Buffalo's Donte Whitner while he tried to make a diving catch during the closing minutes of a 33-21 loss that left the Bengals stranded at 2-6. Johnson lay on his chest for several minutes, and was carted off the field as a precaution. A test at a Buffalo hospital found no serious injury, and Johnson flew back to Cincinnati with the team. He was in the locker room on Monday, but declined to talk to reporters. Analysis: This sounds like Johnson will play, so consider him a low-end No. 1 WR for Week 10 at Baltimore. But make sure you check on his status prior to setting your lineup to make sure he is guaranteed to start. From fanball.com 11/05/07 07:30 AM THE NEWS Chad Johnson was carted off the field with a neck injury Sunday and taken to a hospital. Johnson was able to leave the hospital and fly back home with the team in the evening, though, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. A CT scan on his neck came back normal. Our View At this point, it appears that he escaped without a serious injury, but his status for Week 10 is completely up in the air. Chris Henry is set to return from his suspension and presumably would start if Ocho Cinco is held out of the game. Rotoworld Bengals coach Marvin Lewis says Chad Johnson has a sprained neck, but could play in Week 10 against the Ravens. Impact: Johnson made the team charter home and was at the Bengals' facility on Monday, both positive signs. Still, Lewis isn't always straightforward with the media, and fantasy owners should be prepared for any scenario. Johnson did not talk to reporters Monday. His status will be updated by Wednesday. MrTed46
Johnson may play this week according to ESPN If its just a minor neck injury I dont see why not. Maybe Palmer will stop trying to kill his receivers this year. He is throwing wild balls (sounded funny).
Bill Swerski
Glad to hear that there probably won't be any lingering effects. But it might be a good idea for Marvin Lewis to sit him this week out of caution, as it's not like they're in the playoff hunt or anything.
