aterry1979
I know hes not gonna win it, the title is going to Brady, but how long has it been since a rookie rb made it?

Grits and Shins
....and your joking right? Nope. Take Moss off that team and the whole dynamic of the team changes and Brady has a more mundane season (still good though)
Bill Swerski
Take Brady or Moss off the Pats and they still make the playoffs. Take Favre off of the Packers and they don't.

Bill Swerski
Perhaps ... but my point was that Brady is not even the MVP of his team let alone the MVP of the NFL Meh, I'm not sure that they would've been that much worse off with "only" Stallworth, Welker, Gaffney, and Caldwell. Certainly not as explosive on offense, but probably still capable of winning the AFC.

Bill Swerski
I disagree ... without Moss they lose to Indy. Yesterday, perhaps. But in the playoffs, I'm not sure. Remember that they almost beat the Colts at the Dome with Caldwell and Gaffney as their #1 and #2 options... AND they have Adalius Thomas and a healthy Rodney Harrison and Junior Seau. Bill Swerski
Both yesterday AND in the playoffs. Hell the Colts beat NE Sunday if they have a healthy Marvin Harrison. That's assuming that NE's defense would stay in nickel coverage and get run over for two full quarters again in January. And that Brady would play like crap for the first three quarters in January. The Colts caught a big break yesterday and, unfortunately, failed to capitalize on it.
DaFreak
I disagree ... without Moss they lose to Indy. We have seen what Brady did without Moss las year. What did Moss do withouth Brady?
Duchess Jack
Its got to be Brady. Look at what McNabb did with Stallworth. If Moss got hurt, Stallworth would pick up the slack. Brady has done this with crap wides - the new toys make him better, but he's the reason it all works. He's the most level headed QB I have ever seen. broncosn05
Moss is the MVP. If not how can a WR ever be an MVP, he is UNSTOPPABLE this year. A WR can't control how many touches he gets but Moss is doing the most with the ones he's getting.
Delicious_bass
Brady and Moss obviously make each other much better. Brady, however, runs the machine and therefore is the top candidate for the MVP. Take Moss away and the Pats are still a winning team. Not nearly as scary on O, but still dominant. Take Brady away and its hard to say what you get out of Moss and the Pats would look very mortal IMO.
Crazysight
I disagree ... without Moss they lose to Indy. Without Brady they lose to just about everybody, and Moss' numbers are back to what they were with a sub-par quarterback in Oakland last year. Brady is the MVP, though Moss is a runner-up. rhippens
it's been 20 posts since the 1st one and peterson has yet to be mentioned. i think he has to be in the running right based on what he's doing right now. i'm not sure he'll get it, but he's certainly a candidate. When was the last time an MVP came from a team that didn't make the playoffs? No, I don't think Peterson even gets considered at this point. T-Scorp
Peterson should be mentioned but he will probably get the Rookie of the year and the MVP will go to Brady unless the Pats implode or he gets hurt. Honorable mentition to Favre and Kitna so far. Moss will not be the MVP for two reasons. 1) He is playing at this level because of the team around him and everyone knows it. If the Pats were losing you would see the same old Randy. Same as when he was in MN and winning versus when the Vikings were losing. 2) He is not as popular with the press as Brady and they do the voting (I guess the fans now get a vote too but that meaningless.) Brady runs the team, with out him they are an average team. Edited November 6, 2007 by T-Scorp
detlef
Besides the obvious fact that he deserves it anyway, Brady will get it because of the apparent QB default rule when it comes to these things. The MVP is the QBs to lose unless no QB does anything remarkable and another position goes off insanely. I would imagine that throwing for 50 or whatever TDs and leading his team to 14+ wins should be more than enough for Brady to win it.
