OK i'm in last place in my league and i'm pissed.....i had SA and Rudi backups Benson/Jordan.....thinking i had a solid one two punch but i guess i was mistaken...."and i thought i had good back ups as well ...wow..i pick up every bust possible "....now i'm preparing for next year in my keeper leauge....I've tried to get Turner or Norwood ..and they are on other teams ...now what?

I was thinking Bush from OAk might be a good pick up ....is there any other FA coming up next year that is found on the waviar wires?

And wondering if a writeup will be coming on thehuddle soon about picking up players for next year ..i would like to get a head start

So any suggestions would be great fellows

My list so far Turner/Norwood/bush

Anyone else

Thanks in advance

Don't forget about Stewart from Oregon.

I think that this guy will be drafted too high. He plays in a gimmicky spread option offense, which means that he's facing nickel coverage on almost every down. Not that the guy isn't talented, but that offense has artificially pumped up his numbers big-time.

Playing for Cleveland, or on a diff team? I thought Lewis signed a 2 year deal...

That Im not sure, but aside from his 200 yard game Lewis hasnt really done much in the running game. His 4 TDs last week were impressive, but his 20 carries for 37 yards werent.

You won't think that once you watch the kid play a few. Big-time explosion on a compact frame. Man among boys in college. Reminds me of watching Ricky Williams in college. He will be next year's Lynch, a small step behind McFadden but still awfully good.

I think he will do very well also, and watch out for another PAC-10 stud Ryan Torain, if he can recover from his foot injury could be a stud RB as well.

Uh, I have watched him play and I agree that he certainly has the frame. But he lacks the burst that guys like AP and Maroney had against stacked boxes in college. And I'm not sure that he has Lynch's toughness. Also consider that Oregon's system inflates his numbers tremendously. Stewart is averaging 6.5 yds/carry. Before tearing his ACL a couple of weeks ago, Jeremiah Johnson was averaging 6.4 yds/carry. Even Andre Crenshaw, their third-stringer at the beginning of the year, is averaging 5.6 yds/carry. There's a reason that Bellotti was running RBBC with Stewart and Johnson before the injury, and it ain't because Stewart's the next Ricky Williams.

If I were an NFL GM, I might take Stewart late in the first round... but probably not before then. I think that he'll probably be a solid NFL back but, again, the system that he's accumulated those numbers in helps him (and his backups) tremendously.

Why don't you watch the 2nd half of the season first and then start worrying about 2008?

Um.... maybe because in some keeper leagues a player picked up in FA will only cost you a last round pick the following year? Just sayin.... depends on the league. M Bush taken as an FA this year might make an awfully good 16th round pick next year. A guy I am watching is Snelling, who is on the Falcons taxi squad. How much longer can Dunn last? Or the Falcons HC? Snelling looked pretty good in preseason. More of a dynsaty league sleeper, but I figured I'd throw it out there.
