peepinmofo
Will the 9ers offense get better this offseason, or will they continue to go backwards? Will they do something about the QB position in order for teams to respect the pass a bit more to give Gore a lane or 2 to run through? I know it is impossible to predict the future (duh), but isnt it kind of a must for that team to rectify these issues? I think we all know now that Smith is NOT the answer for them, and was a pretty major bust (as predicted by many).
Uncle Wiggy
Without a 1st round pick, they'll need to be active in free agency to significantly improve their offense. I'm not sure what QBs or WRs are going to be available. They'll probably give Alex Smith one more shot. It's hard to say how they would've done this year if Alex Smith and Vernon Davis were healthy all year. The big mistake was counting on Darrell Jackson to be the go-to receiver they were looking for. tomfin2000
I'm assuming you have Gore in a keeper league like I do, and I think you have to hold onto him unless you've hit the jackpot on productive RBs this year. Gore was productive with the same supporting cast last season, so I put most of the blame on the coaching staff. Nolan may or may not be there next season, but I think it's a pretty safe bet that they'll have a new offensive coordinator.
paulzale
I agree it is the coaching staff (Nolan), if he goes Gore has a chance, if not then another dismal year. This is why I didn't trade with you
