budlitebrad
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3103608 NEW YORK -- The NFL has told its officiating crews to start ejecting players for flagrant helmet-to-helmet hits. The new policy was outlined Saturday in a memo from supervisor of officials Mike Pereira, which was obtained by The Associated Press. It followed two fines last weekend for what the officiating department had determined were hits against players in defenseless positions. Ursa Majoris
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3103608 Not before time. I'd also like to see coaches subject to ejection as in the NBA.

Players don't seem to mind doing it, with just a fine....

Players cant taunt other players but can berate a ref? I think they missed a step in the process .
tomfin2000
I'm glad to see this ruling come down. That hit on Schaub a couple of weeks a go was just ridiculous. It was just after he had thrown an interception, and he was just standing there. He hadn't even taken a step and the Charger player blindsided him. It was one of the cheapest shots I've seen in 30 years of watching NFL football.
