Pirate lookin' at 40
Didn't catch which Seattle player it was, but after they stopped Frisco he pulled his helmet off and he was still on the field. The ref looked right at him and looked away. Now, I'm not a Frisco fan and I'm not bashing the ref, but I thought this was an automatic penalty. Did anyone else notice this and if so, what is the exact rule? just curious
myhousekey
I saw it and thought he might get flagged; I wasn't 100% sure if he took it off or it got knocked off...either way he wasn't quick to put it back on.

Did anyone else notice this and if so, what is the exact rule? just curious I think they consider intent as well. The dude just kind of did a flip over the play and landed on his head. I think he was just trying to get his head right (no pun intended) - not taunt or celebrate in any way and I think it was pretty evident to the ref. jjpro11
i think the rule is stupid in the first place. they say its for the player's safety, but has there ever been a serious injury after a play when the player took his helmet off? i cant remember what made them pass that rule in the first place. The Emmitt Smith rule. It was meant for unsportsmanlike conduct for "excessive celebration" than for safety.
